Hollywood and the White House reaction to demon slayer box office will never stop being funny.

Fushigi Yuugi has turned 30 years old today. Should they adapt the prequel manga Genbu Kaiden to anime?

Along with Slayers, Fushigi Yuugi disappearing is odd considering how popular the manga was during the 90s and especially the 2000s. Fushigi Yuugi was iconic. The later printings of the manga had already censored Miaka's homophobia, despite her stopping making fun of gays, as it was a plot point. The original English translation outright has Miaka saying "faggot. Fushigi Yuugi is also the series where the lack of hentai itself is a joke because of Outlander-levels of comically attempted rape of Miaka in the series.

You might want to consider a pass-through on this; you repeat yourself.

Seen recently uploaded to Tubi, the first 15 episodes of the 1969 TV adaption of Sanpei Shirato's Kamui manga, which originally ran from 1964 to 1971, and has inspired so many artists over the years. A young ninja wants to quit his clan and does so, but the clan tracks him down, considering him to be a traitor (and an ungrateful low-born one at that).

The Legend of the Ninja Kamui

Was this one of the few series that didn’t have it’s “protagonist”(yukitaka) in over half of it’s episodes?

Best part of this series

Is anyone here watching To Be Hero X?
why did the new e-soul continue working with Yan Mo after realizing he was the CEO of a company that manipulated him? Shit makes no sense

Did anyone make a count of the number of times that Miaka said "TAMAHOME!", and vice versa for Tamahome saying "MIAKA"?

This has probably been posted before, but is anyone else sick of this shit "anime" artstyle from western studios? It looks ugly as shit i hate it so much. That tomb raider show that everyone forgot about and the LoTR animated thing comes to mind

ah yes
the pathetic attempt by faggots to ape far superior works by branding themselves as such while deliberately looking like shit

as long as it bleeds those retarded companies to death, i can laugh at it

Yeah, it seems to be that Western studios think that there is one uniform look a series being “anime-inspired”, which is the most generic one you could think of. Never mind how many actual anime do a great job of differentiating themselves from each other on that front.

On a different note, someone mentioned earlier on the thread how Mahouka is one of the most generic battle-harem school shows that was made in that period. That made me think back to a show that I’m currently watching from that period, Chivalry Of A Failed Knight.

At the risk of being roasted, I actually found it to be a really entertaining series. Yes, it may be rather generic, but the execution of the story beats is surprisingly solid. And it actually has characters that communicate with each other as opposed to hiding secrets away for a long time.

Anyone else seen it?

I spent the last three days reading the 7 tankobon long lenght doujinshi Saint Seiya Zeus and Chaos chapters, which where made from 1990 to 1997 as a sequel to the original manga featuring those gods and another set of battles.

The artist completely captured the soul of saint seiya, be it in the bad story and tye bad art that feels straight up from Kurumada's hand. However I read this AFTER reading the official sequel to Saint Seiya and somehow someone emulating the author made a better job of a sequel than himself.

Saint Seiya may be the biggest example of wasted potential, I don't think there is a anime and manga franchise with more than 100 volumes as repetitive as this. I like it, but I can't say that is nowhere as close as good. It is REALLY bad.

I haven't watched it, but I wanted to point out how the biggest attention it got back when it was new was how it came out at the exact same time as Asterisk War and both their first episodes followed almost the exact same structure of sword-wielding protag-kun transferring into a school for magic fighting and accidentally walking in on his red/pink-haired tsundere princess love interest changing clothes, causing them to fight each other in a duel where the princess also has a sword and fire magic. It was considered emblematic at the time of how formulaic these magic school light novels had gotten that two series that weren't ripping each other off had none the less ended up so similar just from using the same tired tropes.

Asterisk War seems to have been more popular, I guess because it was made by A-1 and had more production values and advertising, but people seemed to generally agree that Chivalry of a Failed Knight was the better of the two (and they're not nearly as similar in the long run).

I found it cute once you get past the first few episodes. It's honestly a shame it's only the one season.

Why is there a fucking VTumor board here but no anime board? Weird man
There is less talk about individual anime and even less of happenings concerning anime/manga companies. An anime board would just be dead threads and a "what are you watching" active thread.

Meanwhile VTuber is an endless ocean of weird people and personality cults. Though by the time it was established a lot of big events already have transpired.

The day we get the anime board is the day anime will be forbidden to be discussed at KF - the chaos will be too much. Have you seen how unhinged anime discussion can be? Take a look at the wasteland that the MAL clubs are. And who would be dumb/crazy enough to moderate it?

Also, an entire board for anime is a prime target for the freaks and trolls of the site to non-stop shit on it. Let's just be glad we have this thread.

There's also the fact that the current anime community is pretty much dead/dying unless you love endless shounenshit discussion so there's no one but the normiest of normies or literal who's to follow. Digibro was the most famous lolcow of the animesphere and even he doesn't watch anime anymore and would really larp as a fictional character he thinks is a tranny.

Finished reading Blueberry Doll by Ken Ishikawa, a scifi sex comedy parody manga with a sex toy android from the future staying with a broke university student.

Man, I wish it was longer, basically it was Cutie Honey if it was good and it was just 1 volume long. It was very fun to see the ideas of sex toys from the future.

Also the parodies were fun too.

I really wish more Ken Ishikawa works were fully translated. This was very fun.

That reminds me, correct me if I'm wrong but Gintoki is one of maybe a handful of jump protagonists whose backstory is left mostly unknown and not constantly expanded on or retconned. The unknown orphan scavenging corpses on the battlefield stayed an orphan unlike someone who ended up being a member or one of the most import clans in his story and the son of the former leader of the village.
Its also more impressive when you consider an ancient fan theory from when Gintama still had less then 100 chapters was whether or not Gin was half Amanto if not a full one, and Gorilla's need to put in some kind of Dragon Ball parody in at least every arc.
