Not sure where you live but baby's first saint seiya here was still the original on some channels, free or not. I remember watching the original series on cartoon network in 2001. And it was rebroadcasted multiple times.
I watched it on regional tv, then had to suffer with a horrible hong kong dvd rips then finally got the japanese rips, last time i watched it was on netflix, when lost canvas appeared years have passed since it was broadcasted and the latin american kid just knew because of word of mouth, it was not until Lost canvas that the interest came back because fansubs were releasing it, i remember having to suffer with the HK rips of saint seiya because no one wanted to sub it on english and because of that no one could translate them to spanish

Nokotan, or the funny deer show is apparently using MTL subtitles instead of an actual human translator. The quality on these subtitles are dogshit and if you are interested in watching the show like I am, wait for fansubs/an actual human being to translate. Whatever you might think of retards translating and localizing subtitles, it literally cannot get worse than this. This is the second time this season that Crunchyroll has dropped the ball regarding subtitle quality that I've noticed and I can only imagine it getting worse from here.
kinda based, CR giving everyone the 90's bootleg experience

We had dubbed stuff and translated stuff quite early. I had some episode G manga from 2002 or something in my home. I even own the volume 2 of the Gigantomakhia light novel translated.

Some years ago they even republished saint seiya in the original format and wanted to start a new version of episode G since it was long out of print by a defunct publisher.

Even the current stuff is being translated, even going to adjacent material from other writwrs related to Kurumada, I could read some megumu okada works if I wanted lol.

Edit: man, even I was surprised by this, the most famous team is translating Ring ni Kakero 2 at the moment and this: Asgard manga.

Gotta love the chinese autism, it wasn't even the first time they did this. I remember reading a dragon ball GT manga that was adapting the anime into manga format by redrawing and cutting some parts of the original art and remaking it anew.

Its not really a reveal when 30 chapters ago he was a League player
That would suggest I actually remembered the moment! But it just adds to the comedy of it all "HE WAS A GAMER!" screams the incel after his incel with rage friend shot up the school. "Why would nobody care about hiiiiim?!"
As for the sympathy angle, really Hori fumbled the bag by making Shigaraki's entire life planned out down to the sex position his parents had when creating him for a shitty twist to prop up a more pathetic villain who died less than 4 chapters later. Hori should've just let Shigaraki be the final villain and actually have him do damage instead of making bootleg Aizen nonsense.
For me it's a lot simpler, I don't give a shit about where shigi started or how his dad fucked his mom. I only know he's a nutcase that caused wanton destruction and death to absurd degrees and Hori is now trying to gaslight me into "ooooh, poor baby", no fuck him, he got light. That you were a child soldier doesn't suddenly mean you get to farm sympathy points when you go into a rampage.

Well that's just neat, 12 houses and Asgard are peak Saint Seiya (even if the author wasn't even involved in the second one). Might give it a read.

I wish there was a shonen where the protagonist had the "we could have been friends" moment, only for a few seconds later say that probably not since the other guy was a dick anyways.

MHA could have taken the idea of social stigma against bad quirks into very interesting places, like being automatically on government watchlists or put in camps. Instead it went with the most boring super villain story.

Xmen already did that and I don't think recycling the idea would get MHA any respect. Plus the Japanese are not willing to go near any controversial topics like deathcamps and watchlist, even in seinen generally speaking (golgo 13 is the only one I know of which comes close with depictions of the 6 day war and government conspiracies). They're willing to write a lot about rape though, there's an actual comedy manga called the rapeman. Mahoboroshi panty, also a comedy from go nagai has rape as well.

Didn't the MHA author name one of the villians after something to do with Unit 731? I remember Koreans having a meltdown over it and forcing him to change it.

Grendizer U's subs on the one site I go to suck, anyone has better ones?

[no periods, subs are a little iffy, they never translate anything unspoken... I don't even know if they're in Japan or not!]

I've been weirdly interested in Street Fighter for the past few days. Rewatching the dub of the animated movie. Did you guys know Bryan Cranston voiced Fei Long? Fucking bizarre.

Any recommendations for fan servicy manga along the lines of 100 girlfriends who really really love you? I want to get into the seinen ecchi/harem thing, the stuff which twitter calls problematic
You can't go wrong with Love Hina, To Love Ru was a weekly read for me growing up so I'd reccomend that and I really liked Ai Kora but never heard anyone else ever talk about it. I haven't read any of this shit since I was a kid though so if there's any loli shit I'm forgetting about then I disavow.

Mayonaka Punch looks promising. Tonight I'm going through all the new animes I started and seeing which ones to immediately purge

Do far Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings In Russian is cute and a keeper.
