On that point alone, we differ. I think it will be regarded as a classic of the genre, and even in Japan today, its popularity has shown no signs of slowing down. I've never really seen anything like it.
I think the hype will last and escalate as long as the anime adaptation continues. I don't see the story being an enduring classic outside of Japan. Its traditional vibe will benefit it in Japan, but absent that cultural context the story is just too conventional to have staying power after the adaptation finishes. There's an X-factor that makes a classic stick and if Demon Slayer has that, it eludes me.

But if only I could understand why.
I really don't understand the love for Demon Slayer. To me it's like a significantly worse version of Fullmetal Alchemist in that it does every single trope and forced comedy relief shonen is known for, yet forgot to have interesting characters or world to make it work.

Does anyone recommend any good horror/romance manga esp on the supernatural side
Weirdo combination. "Good" is hard to say, but there are two that I know.
Tasogare otome X Amnesia - Dusk maiden of amnesia, romance between a highschool boy and a ghost girl. Horror aspect is more on mystery and implication of ghost girl death. But I don't think it's really that horror, because the horror part never really feels threaten to protagonists. It mostly implies on something something horrible.

Sankarea, romance between a nerd into zombie and zombie girl. It's somewhat lighthearted at first but get serious later on about zombie issue. Also many fanservice, probably lot more so than previous one.

Both female protagonists are cheerful, kinda flirty type and himecut hairstyle. If you are into those traits, so why not.,,
Both are short imo, like 40ish chapters, 30-40 pages for each chapter. I don't think it'll take that long to finish both and judge them.

@Trombonista she literally calls herself horrible.

Warning about that second one, Ane Naru Mono: its a prequel to a shotacon hentai. You don't need to have read the hentai to understand the manga, but make sure you don't get them confused.
It's actually a serialized reboot with its own plot and characters, completely separate from the doujins themselves. And it's not shota either, more like some level of age-gap actually (besides the obvious fact the main heroine is an eldritch demon).

Author/artist is a woman btw.

That reminds me, anyone remember the days when there was a clear difference between shows that where only popular in the west and only popular in Japan?
Now there's arguably no difference between the two since partially everything gets licensed nowadays aside from maybe one or two exceptions, but I will bet money there will still be a difference between how long something is remembered for/still talked about online.
I might put money on stuff like CSM being talked about longer in the west longer then japan because of how some japs soured on the anime and director, but I'll also say it'll be a snow day in hell before another gundam or macross series gets mass appeal from western normies like they did in the past series.

The main character is a little boy, so the original hentai counts as shota.

The manga is officially a prequel to the doujins, explaining how boy met his pet eldritch abomination and their relationship developed, before she consummated it. Since its a prequel, you don't need to have read the doujin to understand the story.

Author/artist is a woman btw.
I'm well aware.

I wouldn't say it's horror EXACTLY but Ancient Magus Bride is about a woman that gets shoved into a relationship with effectively a fairy tale antagonist that looks like a wendigo put on human clothes. It's played as tamely as possible for the most part but some of the situations are fucked up.

First, Chise is a teenage girl.
Second, Elias doesn't even understand emotion well in the first place, so meaning of "bride" he proposes to Chise isn't exactly that. At least, currently the kind of love and caring they have for each other isn't really love between a man and a woman, despite romance tag in the show. Elias himself has emotion, but so far Chise is the one can make his emotion to be apparent and teaches him about that.

Also, I don't agree with description of Elias being fairy tale antagonist, he doesn't even act like one. He's willing to act out of malice for Chise but he also understands not to make her upset, going against her morality.

I'm trying to think why modern shonen are so lackluster compared to past shonens. I doubt MHA, Jujutsu or Demon Slayer will have the lasting appeal of Naruto, One Piece and DBZ.
The best I can come up with is bad pacing. The older shows always had some cool shit right around the corner, while the new shows I feel like they stall whenever things get interesting. Also probably worse settings, MHA is the only show with an interesting world and it's capeshit, all the others feel way too restrained.
I love JJK, and Demon Slayer is very good, but they're just not as iconic as what you listed. I don't even like One Piece but it's still respectable. I wouldn't watch MHA if I was trapped on a deserted island. Stuff like Bleach just has an appeal that is timeless, and newer stuff can't match it.

It's an anime from Japan.

I agree that Elias, from a human perspective, is incredibly autistic and child like and doesn't have anything like a human romance in mind and is more looking for a mother or teacher.

His entire backstory disagrees with that. He was basically a fucking wendigo until he got a few positive human relationships under his belt and the few people who remember that mostly deal with him because he hasn't wiped out any villages recently they don't want to bait him back into angrily eating people and there's no easy way to kill him.
