I get that its implied. I am just surprised theres not been anything more then hand holding if they are in relationships with eachother. In season 2 it was just Hibiki and Miku, but S3 starts and its very clear Maria and Tsubasa are being set up as a pair. I just figured it would be more in your face with the other girls, but maybe thats just starting now where we are at.
It isn't implied by the end; Hibiki/Miku is just straight up canon and it's more-or-less official that Tsubasa/Kanade and Shirabe/Kirika will get together.

Chris being molested as a kid was actually pretty dark and I am glad that has only been brought up season 1, no need to dig that shit up in my idol mecha girl show.
You think that's bad, wait till you find out what Tsubasa's grandfather did.

Apparently the "person" handling the localizing is this:

This isn't all btw, Dark Gathering has been getting the worst translations this season. Seriously, I just saying that if the term "cool beauty" is literally said in English (Engrish, to be more precise), then it should be translated as such, not to some zoomer slang like "Period" instead. In fact, zoomer slangs are just one of the problems with these troonslations.

Also, that fat cunt always does this. I swear to god she might be the most famous lolcow among the localisation cabal.

He did nothing wrong, comparatively
Dude, did you watch the anime?
Tsubasa's grandfather:
  • Raped his son's wife to sire Tsubasa in the first place, then subjected Tsubasa to a childhood of being a lab rat and turned her into a Symphogear user against her will
  • Nearly got Japan nuked due to his actions. Said nuking had to be stopped by someone else sacrificing their lives
  • Actively worked with the main villains of the final season, even orchestrating the massacre of 70,000 people, just to acquire God like power, only to reawaken the true final villain and nearly get the world destroyed.
  • Murdered his own son trying to kill Tsubasa and then GLOATED ABOUT IT AFTERWARD
  • Is just an all around dick who actively hinders the main characters in being able to do their jobs

There is literally not a single redeeming fact about the guy.

He is a prick, but he's coming from the background of 'Japan must be defended'. Considering in just the show alone the country's been threatened by:
Ancient ghost monsters that carbonize on touch
An immortal sumerian priestess hellbent on blowing up the moon
The Americans (multiple times)
The moon falling from the sky
A hero and icon trying to fly to space to smash a Ukrainian supermodel and ditch everyone else to the moon crash
A genocidal austrian trying to disintegrate the planet
The Illuminati
The Annunaki
And as Nippon's chief glownigger he is going to get dirty in order to complete such an impossible task.

- Eugenics demanded it. He wanted to create someone as capable as him, any method be damned
- America was literally spoiling for any excuse to glass Japan, half of the problems if not more in the first few seasons were caused by either America trying to steal Symphogears or neutralise them. Adam was enough for them to have reason to nuke Japan
- Would likely have successfully controlled Shem-Ha too if Noble Red hadn't have tried to break it to spite him
- Killing the people at the concert wasn't for awakening Shem-Ha, it was for breaking Tsubasa, so she'd be susceptible to Milaarc and come back into line under him.
At the end of G, Japan lost the Symphogears as they were forced to relinquish them to the UN. Japan had lost their great equaliser and were ultimately at the mercy of the rest of the world. He needed to bring back his ultimate weapon by any means necessary and unfortunately for him, Tsubasa had grown apart from him. So he needed to break her down again, same reason he goaded her after killing Yatsuhiro. Once he fully breaks her back into a killer, he gets his successor and Japan has its guardian once again.

It's important to note that from S3 onwards, SONG is not affiliated with Japan aside from 90% of its staff being Japanese. He couldn't depend on an international defence force to protect Japan nor could he allow a foreign force to run around freely

Tldr: He's doing dirty deeds for a more noble goal than most of the antagonists, a death world like theirs needs a prick to keep everyone safe

The most common pirated anime these days (and for the last 10-ish years, really) just rips the streaming versions that already have the "localized" translations.
Yeah if you're lucky there are other groups that do fansubs for a show with shit subs but in most cases if you care about subtitle quality then you're better off waiting for a BD release where somebody who potentially gives a shit with fix the shit localization, add typesetting and karaoke, and more comes along. I think the last group I was aware of doing this for seasonal anime was Zafkiel who was actually pretty fast at releasing a version that was heads and shoulders above the horrible subtitles for Urusei Yatsura (2022)

You didn't pay attention to the show. He wasn't actually keeping Japan safe. In fact, everything he did actually put Japan MORE in danger. SONG were the only things actually protecting Japan, not him, shown when he fired them all, then turned around and rehired them when he realized he had no idea what the hell he was doing. Nothing you say actually justifies what he did. His obsession with being the one to protect Japan was completely irrational, and based on nothing, and he didn't even protect Japan in the end, he actively endangered it.

Pretty much. At best, he had some sort of savior complex and felt like Japan could only be saved his way

Never forget the blessed period of time in the early 2010s where the only source of translations for niche shit was image boards

Even though it probably wasn’t very authentic, the 4chan dub of watamote is probably the only one worth reading

So that explains the numerous amount of people asking me to watch Symphogear, because its yuri-shit.

That firing/rehiring never happened btw. You're forgetting SONG are not under Japanese control. Exercising extreme caution and suspicion over the UN Peacekeepers running around with mountain-levelling weapons is just common sense.
Japan/the world was only at risk because NR sabotaged him and the whole concert mess
