There are plenty of panels that are effectively buff men wrestling in the nude. It panders to a different subsection of yaoi fangirls than the common uwu soft bishonen looking one.
Think it's just because some of the more modern censorship of anime and manga have been so obnoxious and malicious compared to 4KIDS' goofy censorship to appease the FCC, but 4KIDS was pretty important in bringing more anime to America. Hell, if it wasn't for them, I might not have become the anime fan I am now, who knows, Digimon I think would've still come to the States with or without Pokémon's influence since Saban Entertainment existed well before 4KIDS did.
Damn, I'm actually kinda shocked this got a manga. This is one of those rare times I wish the anime takes it's own route, due to how plain shit the manga turns into.

Never seen Black Lagoon but you should watch The Big O, always kind of reminded me of Batman. The dub and the sub are both great.
I like Batman from a comics perspective not necessarily a media perspective. I get what I want from Batman from Berserk and Fist of the North Star. That was just an offhand mention to show how boring Black Lagoon was for me, I ended up finishing TAS before I did Black Lagoon (50 something episodes vs 25 episodes). I see lot of people mentioning it as one of the best anime out there and it feels so mid? Its like a Michael Bay movie done better than Michael Bay with some bits of John Woo inserted in. Idk if it wasnt for me cause the anime I like are stuff like Gunsmith Cats, Doomed Megalopolis, Dragon Ball, Ninja Scroll, Akira, Berserk 97 stuff like that.
I found Black Lagoon boring too, started reading it because of all the praise and dropped it pretty early on. I'm not a big action person in general but the plot and characters just didn't do anything for me. There's barely a story at all. Also I couldn't stand Revy, they tried way too hard to make her this edgy badass.
I like action but it should have some meaning behind it like in Jin Roh or something. If its meaningless operatic action and stunts then it should be done live action like John Wick or Extraction, making it animated reduces the impact a ton.
Where on earth are you seeing a lot of people talk about Black Lagoon as one of the best anime out there? Aside from you nerds, I haven't heard anyone mention Black Lagoon since like 2008.
I'm autistic as hell for noticing this, but why did they give Rin the same dopey, rounded eyes as Nadeshiko? Rin's eyes are suppoed to be flat across the top. Blue arms! Really good, the VA of red haired girl really makes the comedy strikes home. Hopefully will keep the level of quality.
Good first episode, the VAs fucking nailed it. I'm expecting this one to be a sleeper hit as it gets later into the manga.
