Anime is good
... as a quick litmus test to judge whether I need to pay any attention or give any credence to a person who outwardly likes anime
In other words, anime is like a septum ring or a facial tattoo or danger hair
 
Haven't watched much anime in awhile but there are always gems among the coal. It also helps to have an idea of weeb and Otaku culture to enjoy certain genres. Being a tourist will get you nowhere.
 
Anime has had a devastating effect on the world and I think it's fair to say that if Japan were obliterated by a hydrogen bomb in WW3 that it was deserved.
