I know other people have said it, but his art style is so fucking ugly. I can't put my finger on why, but something about it really rubs me the wrong way.

It's probably because it's so very cartoony and derivative. The eyes are way too huge, all of the characters have similar body outlines, etc.

I know what it is for me, it just how flat it is just no shading, no complex colouring, nothing interesting it just looks so flat and dull.

That sort of thing can be possible in that the guy defends James but also wants him to know that revealing things can bite James hand. The white knight wants James to keep whatever he's doing (said white knight could be into his fart pics or something like that) but also wants him to not reveal too much lest the trolls come in.
