It's hard to say, but in a way I'd have to go with Doug.

Dobson never came close to being a success. Doug almost did, but he's sabotaged his product to such a degree that he's reached a level of failure no ordinary schlub who never made any money could hope to achieve. It's like how I consider Daikatana to be a worse game than Air Control.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of his picks come from X7.

Also, I'm only two minutes into the video and I don't have a word in my vocabulary to describe my what I'm seeing; he's criticizing a cyberspace level for having abstract looking enemies. None of his criticisms make sense.

His voice is like Blockbuster Buster's. It makes my teeth grind.

By the way, watch it at 13:02.

Political agendas have nothing to do with art quality.
Yeah, number 1 was Flame Hyneard from X7 (a garbage game.) I tried to watch another video about Mega Man and all it was was him saying "why make a robot based on this? Insert random reference."

I've noticed that with most YouTube critics/reviewers is just how generic they all are. They all seem to make the same videos, top 10 lists with obnoxious intros. And the thing I can't stand, which most people do, is instead of actual wit or humor it is all just references and editing "jokes."
This is something that's always bothered me about these people, especially Doug, and it's only become more apparent as time's gone on - it's just the same jokes (if they can be called that) and memes repeated ad nauseam instead of actual criticism. Worse still they're the perfect storm of unfunny and unoriginal. I was seriously exasperated when I watched the first episode of Demo Reel and there was an M Night Shyamalan joke in the the first five fucking minutes. We get it Doug, Shyamalan hasn't been good since the late 90s come up with something new!

Someone said this several pages back and they're absolutely right - when RedLetterMedia came along these people should've either gone extinct or sat down and had a good hard think about how to reform themselves.

But, figuring out what's wrong and changing it to right a sinking ship is work, and work's hard...

Better to stay the course and take to Patreon!

Blip.tv have just announced that they're shutting down permanently a month from now. Looks like the shit may be about to hit the fan big-time.

Not too shocking; they tried to go the route of TV and failed to understand why that method doesn't work too well. Doubly so since they axed so many channels over trying to mimic that. Triply so when they tried warring with people who used AdBlock. It's similar to how Viddler collapsed under their own bad ideas.

I haven't seen an NC review in a while, but is Doug still using his own artwork in his videos? I recall him using a TON of hand drawn backgrounds in his Alice in Wonderland review and its all just awful. Can he not just find an actual artist to do the background illustrations and character designs? You'd think he would try to at leas make those higher quality since it seems like he's trying to make his show more professional.

I never understood why raging like a sperg while watching a film took off as big as did (judging by the amount of CA knockoff reviewers).

Like, with video games, at least there's reason to get pissed; sure, a gamer is still raging at a screen, but at least the reviewer can talk about things they're so frustrated with, like godawful controls and broken game mechanics. To add salt to the wound, most new release games cost $39-59 dollars and are expected to have some replay value: even more reason to vent about it in a video.

Yes, there are endless amounts of stupid things in movies, too, (bad script, effects, acting, writing) . . . but most of them should garner at most an eyeroll and a comment, not a huge histrionic fit.

Well Dobsy went to art school (even if he paid no attention there), and Doug's work looks like a three-year old's ass smears. So Doug's, no question.

You're forgetting that Doug is an art major.

Yes, he is college educated for art.

They were retarded to the very end I see. Most web-companies that are doing poorly like this would skirt the burden by selling it to another entity so that someone else can take the fall or repair the sinking ship.

The faggot who ran Furaffinity is smarter than the people running Blip.

Allowing your company to go under is a confession to failure; such a confession will always be a stain on their reputations and will serve as a roadblock to all of their future endeavors.

For the record someone else did the art for the alice in wonderland review.

The Hell did he go? Same place as Chris? Christ, it's seems they'll hand degree's out to anybody nowadays.. *sigh*

Doug himself said that art degrees are the easiest to get. If I recall correctly, he got his at a community college so it doesn't mean much.

Catharsis and hilarity. It's one part revenge & one part comedy. That would be the point.

In my opinion, it only gets cringeworthy when the response is exaggerated or an outright lie, like that one faggot who reviewed the Mega Man X bosses for forty minutes.

Wait, what? Oh wait,

Doug himself said that art degrees are the easiest to get. If I recall correctly, he got his at a community college so it doesn't mean much.
Why am I not surprised. Wonder what the education system in Chicago is like if art degrees are easy to get with little to no art skills.

I think a lot of liberal arts students major in art if they have no idea what they should major in. It's alright because you can get in all the degree prerequisites, and the degree specific classes aren't too soul crushing. You have time to transfer programs, and even if you don't figure anything better, you still get a degree. Some jobs simply require any degree.

If you want to get a proper art education, you should really go to a school specifically focused on art. Those can be demanding. Although evidently not always, because Andrew Dobson somehow graduated from NCAD.
