Ah, gotcha. They both kinda had that "let's just get this over with" look to their faces, so it made me think they were the same people from the pilot.

Nah one of them was a skinny teen and the other a sad middle aged man, rather than Porko and Popeye here who both fancied themselves as funny guys, with the only 'joke' actually getting a laugh from me (a shocked laugh mind!) was when Porkins insulted his wife.

All I can say is, if Doug told Porko and Popeye to look as enthusiastic as possible....neither one took his advise, at least in the first part of the episode. Porko especially looks like he'd rather be getting a root canal.

He sounded like it too! It was like listening to Raymond's brother in Everybody Loves Raymond!

Especially this part:

Doug: Complete this Wonder Years song lyric: "What would you do if I...."

Porko: (Boredly) Sang out of tune.

Doug: Right!

Porko: (Boredly) Would you stand up and walk out on me...

Doug: Ok, we don't need your life story...

Porko: (Bored sigh) It's on my IPod....

Seriously Doug? Why'd you try this a second time? it feels like Demo Reel all over again, except that we're probably in it for the long haul.

Are those contestants the same two guys from the pilot? If so, then God bless em for coming back to do this for what seems like the upteenth time.
I don't think so. And if they are, then they have the patience of a saint for dealing with Doug and his annoying tendencies.

Oddly enough, I think the AVGN summed up anything with 52 of something in the Action 52 review.

"Quality over Quantity, that's the lesson here."

A mantra that I doubt Doug will follow.

They're doing more of them because of the kickstarter they did. Yes, this is up there with Demo Reel in that these are some of the worst things I've personally seen, but the fact that he's even trying to match the goal is astounding me. I'd have expected none or just the one he made before he said "fuck it".

He promised (threatened?) 52 episodes of this shit. 52!

Doug just won't be told.

Guys. Guys. He took 90 grand from his idiot fanbase to do this. The fact that he's actually trying to meet his promiseshould at least be appreciated on some level, even if the product is computerized cancer that's metastasizing throughout the site. He could've just stolen the money and ran off laughing. Yes. It's shit and I won't watch any more than the 1st episode and he's a dummy for wanting to do this, but at least he's trying to give his dumb fans what they paid for.

Looking at the production values, are you sure he didn't?

You probably would've been better off apologizing for the first episode and promising that all of the money would instead be funneled to improving the quality of everything else.

That'd be impossible, Doug spent the money on personal debts and screwed his inlaws out of money, which was also for personal debt.

What I'm saying is he didn't get that building purely through the Nostalgia Critic.

You know what's astounding to me? The fact that he didn't simply make this the second episode; he is now one full episode away from completing his goal when he didn't have to.

My guess is that he's gearing up for another Kickstarter where he funnels yet another 90 grand or so out of his fans for more personal debts, which would be the reason why he's fulfilling this promise at all.

Just how far in the red is Doug Walker anyway?

IIRC, there's an article out there (by one of the contestants) that states the first episode was actually the LAST episode they'd taped. I'll try to find it.

EDIT: Here ya go. Enjoy the fail.

WTF?! This gameshow shit is still going.....?
