If it makes you feel less disdain for humanity - I'm not watching a single POS from this guy, ever again. I'm no prude myself when it comes to porn, but when you're found out like he was and fail to do something about it, like re-think your life and mindset around it, there's no pulling yourself out of it - YOU SUCK as a human being, no matter how propped up you are by suck-ups.
 
Would Ashens be considered in this category? Because he's really damn good

I always liked Ashens because he proves you can be critical about something and be funny without screaming your head off about it. The only time I remember him being really mad about something was the Peter Popoff scam letter and the 9/11 Popstation game. And even though he was appalled by them, he didn't ham it up or put the rage on because the camera was rolling.

Yeah I think his old stuff is pretty good, so I just ignore all the new stuff and watch his old reviews when I get bored. There's actually still old ones that I've never seen before, despite watching him for maybe 3 years now, so I'm gonna go check those out sometime.
 
The skits are probably what he uses to justify having a studio. Not to mention his costars. I still like NC, but man some of those skits are so lame. There are times they work, like the Monster Squad review, but stuff like the ending to Matrix month seemed so forced to me. Like they're only there because he can.

I agree, the monster squad skits were cool but all the others are painful to watch (depending on how desperate the jokes seem)
 
I can easily rewatch any old NC episodes that I had enjoyed years ago. Some of his new stuff I tried and was okay with, but I can't watch his new stuff on a daily basis like I used to. It's not worth it for the generic jokes and really long skits. I came for the review, not a rejected comedy show. A lot of the other reviewers seem to forget this, too, as they try making up more 'hilarious' alter egos and incredibly spergy sagas or plots to go around the beginning or end of their shows.

I like added references during a review that Phelous, Allison or Cinema Snob do from time to time, but they still don't forget the purpose of reviewing some weird or fucked up shit, and they still have fun with it, not trying to make a really long joke about watching their ads or anything or even complaining about people who were offended by the constant blip-ad controversy at the time (I forgot who did this after Linkara, Blockbuster Buster, maybe?)

You put it perfectly, this is exactly how I feel about NC and Channel Awesome/TGWTG, and I can't stand those drawn out jokes about the ads either (I swear he's done that 10 times now)
 
New NC, watch once. Maybe twice at a far later date.
Old NC, watch when bored.
Linkara, stopped watching a loong time ago.
Spoony, when something good is on my youtube subscriptions. Sometimes old movie reviews or marathon the Ultima episodes.
Brad, DVR Hell all the time. Miss my 80's Dan Christmas episodes.
Jontron/Tacoman, watch over and over.

I used to visit the site daily and watch several people, so nowadays I had realized I only ever go to their own sites and might peek in on MikeJ or Rap Critic every few months or so. Film Brain hasn't released any Bad Movie Beatdowns in a real long time and I don't watch much of his Projector stuff. Linkara was my favorite until he kinda seemed to be doing the same shtick, his 'sagas' got too long and embarrassing, and he wasn't really focusing on the bad writing of comics, just nitpicking or seeming to get a lot of facts wrong until it became continual.

MikeJ will do a little joke about an ad break coming up, but they don't take up an entire five minutes, nor does he try to insult you to make you feel bad about turning on adblocker, like Linkara and Buster did. After that, I really just stopped viewing anything on Blip altogether because no one on TGWTG seemed to address the finer arguments like people blocking the ads because sometimes they'd freeze, crash, or the fact they'd play the same exact commercial about four times in a row. The arguments for it were only "this is the only way we get paid" or "it's not even long commercial breaks like on tv." No one was addressing how slow and buggy Blip was or how the ads made watching a video even harder so I realized this happy little internet family wasn't as respectful of their viewers as I had imagined.

Insulting people like they should be grateful to even see your pretentious work of 'art' about overused gags and yelling a combination of obscene words is immature, especially when actual issues with Blip were never handled. I tried to look around the new Channel Awesome site and it's just awful in so many ways, I don't know why they thought the site looked good the way it did.

One of the other factors that made me leave were the fans - the comments are one giant hugbox and SJW massacre and I couldn't stand the thought of these people snarling at every opportunity of someone else pointing out little errors with a review or a different opinion. Once the reviewers themselves seemed to be no better, it made me lose a lot of respect to the point where I can't look at them for long in a video without seeing the underlying smugness and arrogance.

I never got into anyone else on TGWTG besides Brad, and I saw that video with Linkara ranting about adblock before I saw any of his stuff, so yeah I never liked him. With that, NC starting to suck, and Spoony getting kicked off the team I don't feel like I missed out on anything great.
 
I always feel a little conflicted about Linkara. On one hand, I genuinely like a lot of his reviews, mostly the older ones but a few more recent ones as well. On the other hand, he doesn't seem like he's a very pleasant person to be around. His Tumblr posts would show up on my dash from time to time and he often seemed kind of snotty. I'm not really bothered by the smut; what he's into is his own business until he plasters it everywhere, really. But if it stays on adult sites I don't really care. But he's a pretty dodgy person.

tl;dr: I'll still watch his videos but adblock stays firmly on.

From what I've heard he's a massive dick. There was some report of one of the members looking to pursue a relationship with another member (I'm guessing Phelous and Lupa) and he went to Doug to tell on them.

Do you remember Recess? He's Randall.
