Sorry, but that is pretty unacceptable. This sort of shit is a running theme with him when it comes to pornography, and in particular the women who come from said field. He treats bad porn actors differently based on gender alone. On top of that, he's horribly dismissive of the field, in spite of that being a notable gateway or opening for quite a few people into the acting gig (including Stallone mind you).

Other choice lines include his utter disappointment that there's no sex in it and the statement that she can only act when getting penetrated multiple times. I usually revel in this sort in this sort of humor, but it just bugs in a big way; I just get the vibe that he isn't saying it to be funny, and that he's actually serious about this stuff. I mean, he makes a point that the acting as a whole is bad, but really just selects and picks on one person in the cast. Sure, she's the main character, but technically there was a deuteroganist in that film as well. So it just comes off as him being a sexist piece of shit.

I used to think that the worst part of the "angry critics" were the raspy :ween: kids trying to make their own AVGN/NC rip-off, but (and if there's a thread for TGWTG, I'd love to see it), but from what I've read of TGWTG, I think I've made my decision. Like if any of these are even remotely true:

At bare minimum I would say that some elements are true in that thread, such as the Walker brothers propensity to fight with each other and Doug's total lack of competence. As an added note, I'll add that I've met and talked with Guru Larry in a one-off conversation with a group of others. He talked a bit on the gang, mentioning that he was never invited into these shoots because plane ticket fare was too high or something, at least that was the crew at TGWTG's logic. You know, in spite of getting one for Filmbrain.

Btw, I watched the AVGN movie yesterday. It sucked. Just like 12 days of Shitmas. It's a shame, Rolfe is getting worse and worse...

Not really dozen, from what I see it's like 90% of the comments on his recent videos are filled with unfunny comments regarding Mike's penis. It managed to last for more than 10 days and I wonder how long this "meme" is going to last.

I haven't seen the movie, but I've really enjoyed the 12 days of Shitsmas, because they feel like they are in the style of his very early episodes, where he wouldn't do any strange skits and he would just make fun of the game while cussing up a storm.

I like his 12 days thing because it is at least regular content.

I mean I can live without huge elaborate episodes. I just want regular content. I can deal with a 3 minute episode every day for 12 days with no skit bullshit or anything in between. and I'd prefer that to a 30 minute episode with a 6 minute review hidden inside it released every 6 months.

It's my biggest problem with Spoony because he goes months and months without putting anything of substance out, and he has one of the most popular Patreon accounts. Like at the moment all he does is put out constant episodes of his wrestling show.
 
I'm okay with skits and the like when they work. HFG in the Christmas Story 2 review didn't work for me on so many levels.

Tacoman is pretty awesome when the creator really sets his mind to it.
I freaking love how he not only animated himself into his playthrough, but deliberately made it low-res to fit in with the ps1 graphics.

He's not well informed about wrestling at all. Good wrestling shows, like Botchamania, OSW, Attitude Era Podcast, are made of lifelong fans who are just having fun with each other. For Spoony it comes off as though he was looking for an easy way to produce content, and wrestling is a show that is on every week, and he could just make Vlogs about. A well informed funny wrestling review is worth its weight in gold, and Spoony's is that; if you delete the words well, informed, and funny and replace gold with shit.

I'd MUCH rather he just put out like 5 minute videos on video games every week or at least justify why he needs like 4 months to make a video game review. It's not impossible to do, lots of video game personalities like Total Biscuit create 30 minute videos on a consistent basis. And the guy gets paid money weekly by patreon (a very large amount of money as well).

I mean he's used the excuse that Final Fantasy takes a long time to get footage for. But he doesn't even record his own footage anymore. He gets someone else to do it. So he just needs to watch it and cut it together. He doesn't even necessarily need to do Final Fantasy. He could do a much shorter game like a first person shooter or even a 2 hour movie review. Just something that feels like it takes effort rather than him complaining about something inane like wrestling or some movie he went to see on his couch for 45 minutes.

And I mean even if he needs 4 months to make a review at least do an extensive review. Like if you look at Red Letter Media the amount of research and the level of analysis they do into a movie is enormous. So it justifies why it would take so long to make a Plinkett review. Meanwhile they also make movies and do a weekly scripted movie review show.

As an aside, I hate the new formatting for Channel Awesome for a variety of reasons. Reason 1: It really hammers home how no one else matters with all dat Doug on the banner. It looks like the peak of narcisism, especially since several of Doug's characters on there aren't that relevant or present nowadays. Reason 2: The banner's art quality is shit; The line work is jagged, the size of the banner was clearly stretched to make the dimensions of the website, and the style fluctuates like crazy; note the anime style women and the more western style Dougs.

Now to explain why the formatting is shit.

Reason 1: The video archive is disorganized and a pain in the balls to navigate. They literally aped Brad's old site design/Spoony's current site design. They also seem to have ripped off Cracked's design, but not as well.

Reason 2: The reviewers list is not exactly designed that well. Since there's a notable staple, a better choice would have been a page of its own when you click on that tab. Also there is no point to delineate reviewed products by decade; chuck that out.

Reason 3: The empty space used for blogs. The fact they throw in Doug, and not just leave an anonymous person says much.
 
I sort of want to give my opinion about some of the critics/reviewer that I have or still watched. Right now the only ones that I really follow right now are AVGN, Snob, and Spoony.

I started watching Spoony back in the day becasue I like listening to him tear up FF8 (I really do not like 8, it's right up there with 13 to me in terms of bad FF games) and I really loved his old stuff like Phantasmagoria, Yor, S.W.A.T 4, FMW Hell and his Ultima retrospective and I liked listening to his DnD stories, but things started falling apart once he started his FF10 reviews (again another FF game I have a low opinion of) when he started with the stupid sketches (which I always skipped) and when he had his breakdown. Right now I mostly watch him (when he ever does put out a video) out of some sort of loyalty from watching him for so many years. I wish he'd get away from FF for good and quit doing the stupid sketches and go back to to his old style and the closest he got to that was his Minority report video which was kind of alright.

As for the Snob, I was introduced to him when Spoony gave him a bump and I been with him ever since his Shriek of the Mutilated video a long time ago. I think he hits his stride is when I review things like Black Devil Doll from Hell, E.T. the Porno, Violent Shit, Super Honrio Bros. and all the Shot on Shitteo movies he's done, but when he goes out of bizarre and obscure movies and starts reviewing more tame and well known movies, he gets boring and he tries so hard to play up the pretentious critic parody and it becomes way too predictable. Also I really do not like most of his friends, I mostly prefer when he does reviews alone and only really watch his midnight screenings when it's a really bad movie they've just watched.

And lastly the AVGN probably the first reviewer/critic that I've followed. I'm a really big AVGN and Cinemassacre fan, I watch almost everything he puts out becasue I find James to be one of the nicest and most likeable out of all the so called reviewers just becasue he puts a lot of heart into his work and is so passionate about what he does. I always look forward to when he does his Monster Madness reviews just to hear him talk about horror films. As for the Nerd it doesn't bother my when he swears or gets vulgar but where the Nerd hits the mark is when he plays games that James loves, like his Castlevania series which is some of my favorite reviews that he's done and the only thing I could really complain about is that his videos are kind of too short for me. So yeah James to me is one probably my favorite out of any of these people just becasue of his passion of doing what he likes.
 
For the record, I don't consider Jontron to be an "angry gamer". More mildly infuriated in my opinion. He kinda plays on the tropes that angry gamers have used, but ironically, he's received a following of people who imitate his style. Some of these imitators are not bad though, such as Brutalmoose and Caddicarus.
 
that recent avgn video where he did the LJN Video Art annoyed me. Complaining that the controls are a bit imprecise on a cheaply made 27 year old analogue joystick made me feel like he's perhaps just stretching to find new things to call a shitload of fuck :/
