I think this is a good thing. Some of the people you've made an effort not to associate with are absolutely toxic so I don't blame you for keeping your distance. Just by virtue of the fact that you seem like a decent person I'm more inclined to give clicks to you than I am to them. Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to find some of your old Land Before Time reviews...
I admit that I HATE watching my old Land Before Time reviews. The only one I'm even remotely okay with anymore is the one on TLBT14 which I did earlier this year when it came out. I hate the way I used to review.

Honestly sounds like CA is worthless to join @MarzGurl , because usually you at most get a slight bump of views by participating in others videos and they don't give much of a fuck if you're a minor. Might be because I see no benefits aside from imaginary though, since there's not even the fallback of them being your friends or something.

Honestly they sound more shittastic than joining Machinima; at least they steal some of your revenue in exchange for making you a lot tougher to take down with DMCA idiocy.

I wouldn't say I'm not friends with folks, or that I completely don't talk to anyone. I'm connected to people via social media and talk to a lot of folks about really cursory things. I have good memories with tons of people. I just choose not to get involved in a lot of other deep behind-the-scenes things. There have been a number of instances where internal turmoil has threatened to try to suck me into it, and I sort of just step back and not look at the explosion in the background.

"I haven't seen the new Wonder Woman film, but I bet you the kiddy cartoon of it is infinitely superior!!!"

Erod is quite salty in this.

Well, Warner Brothers is making it, and I doubt they've learned any good lessons from their other films. Still jumping the gun entirely for pre-release hype and views though.

There was never any ad money split. Channel Awesome doesn't pay its contributors. We were paid solely through Blip's ad revenue back in the day, and today that's now through YouTube's ad revenue and through the kindness of people through Patreon. I stay there for the extra exposure. Otherwise, I'm not a big name, and nobody would ever find me. There may come a day where I outgrow the need of it. I don't know. I've already been doing it for years, and I'm still not big. Admittedly, partially my fault, because I try to stay so far away from internal drama that I sort of end up not talking to fellow producers at all, to do crossovers or anything else of the sort. I guess I made myself kind of cusp on purpose.

Anyway, yeah, you're kinda right. There's little other benefit lately than the exposure and the potential that the other producers recognize you, feel kinship with you, and want to work and network with you. Unless you are actually a direct Channel Awesome staff member (which I'm not, just a contributor) that works directly with the Walkers on their regular video productions. They and Mike Michaud are the only ones that get a paycheck through Channel Awesome.

Thanks for answering my question.

I thought they would have offered some incentive to their contributors, rather than just a possible popularity bump, and maybe an invite to one of their crossover things. So CA the company is basically a promotions company that barely bothers to promote.

If Movieblob is worthy of a thread, then Jim Sterling sure as hell is, too.
Depends, did Sterling do something as autistic and hilarious as write a book on how a videogame prevented him from killing himself, which included such fine details as ignoring his grandmother's death rattles while playing said game, comparing seeing a promo of a game to 9/11, and thinks he was just as traumatized as a Nam vet?

Jim's a lot more cold, detached and frankly successful than Bob. His SJW shit comes from peers. a liberal worldview and his tendency to play office politics. He has some cringeworthy moments such as his awkward tendency to infer threesomes and gang bangs with his 'husky' wifu and like everyone on twitter says stupid shit. But mostly he's just an adequate journalist who churns out social concern puff pieces sometimes and is a little to pompous for his own good.

Jim was also responsible for the Digital Homicide drama which is one of the funniest things I've ever seen and funnier than anything Bob will ever do. No-one who's able to extract that many lulz from a situation deserves a thread on here. Sure, Jim says some stupid shit a lot of the time, but he's not really a lolcow.

Jim Sterling, you say?

May I direct you to his wife, who not only looks like Tumblr in human form, but has him already cucked up (like Jake Rapp and Anthony Burch) in an "open marriage" and lusting for other guys' cocks.

He rides that line, Jim is trolling 16 year old russians for spaz outs so he can get paid. It's funny but also kind of disgusting. In his own controlled videos he's funny, he has control of the narrative and makes decent jokes. His twitter which lets him spit whatever comes to mind, straight up autism.

But does he tard out like the Blob the Blubbery Bostonian? If no, then go out and find it. If yes, make thread yerself.

@MarzGurl, (or @LordKaT ), wasn't it well known that CA has been screwing with its contributors? I read somewhere for all of their movies, they didn't pay people who went to Chicago or New Mexico (wasn't one of their movies set somewhere there?) at all, only recompensating their travel/food expenses and a copy of their terrible film that already was free on the Internet.

And don't forget the time they hung one of them (I forget which) upside down for hours on end during Suburban Knights.

Apparently Channel Awesome was copyright struck by our favorite B-grade movie actor. :story:
