I've never been quite sure, to be honest. I don't like him, but I don't think he's Doug Walker-tier shit. Joe at least puts some sort of efforts into videos, and unlike Spoony he actually makes videos. Joe has done some shitty things in the past, like putting ads and monetizing his video on when JewWario died.

Even then I'm not sure that was a purposeful thing. It could have been that he forgot to turn off monetisation for that vid for all we know.
Either way, it's clear he does it for fun, the money's a bonus, why would he spend so much on dumb costumes, else? Hell, for his GTAV vid he forked out a lot of money for the opening sketch with the little cars.

I think he puts effort into it for his fans and such, I'm just not a fan of his humor. But, again, I don't see a reason for him to be hated on. He's got 2 million subs, and I can see why people like him.

But at the same time, he's got rather polarizing opinions and supports the Sarkeesian cause. Which is a pretty big black mark.
Personally, I could care less about him (never really paid attention to, let alone watched, him. So my knowledge comes second-hand), but I can see where both sides are coming from with Joe.

I think it's just that he's not yet learned that sometimes, less is more. All his videos go on for way too long, and he tends to add in some (fortunately short) sketches that waste even more time. I think he'd be a lot better if he cut his average video length in half, honestly.

Apparently not, as I found out on TVTropes when trying to refresh my memory of the guy.
Then again, it's TVTropes, and I never cared for him anyways to really do much research on the guy. So I may be wrong.

About Joe's opinions, he outright foresaw the short lifetime Evolve had, and is against the shit EA performs. His stance on GG is similar to TotalBiscuit, at least for me, where they both believe that Anita has the right idea, but her methods are wrong.

Joe comes off as semi-spergy to me based on the way he acts in the review, and that death thing is real dickish. He might not be a cow, but that is still horrid and worthy of a mention.

I've never posted on YouTube. Is it possible that he simply forgot to turn off the monetization application when he posted the video? If I recall correctly, the issue was addressed pretty quickly.

Who knows? He could have forgot to turn it off. Or he could have purposefully left it on and turned it off when people rightfully raged against him.

I'm pretty sure monetization isn't enabled by default, although I could perhaps see Joe ticking the "monetize" box out of habit, and not realizing what he'd done until people started flaming him.

I've always found Joe tremendously obnoxious, but in many ways that's unfair. He's far less of an annoying twat than most of his colleagues that get far less grief for it anyways.

I didn't as well. But he isn't JO levels of awful at least. He's still a bit of a dick though.
