Nostalgia Critic. According to the fucking dictionary the definition of the word "nostalgia" is
  1. : a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition; also : something that evokes nostalgia
I don't understand why someone named the Nostalgia Critic is reviewing something that came out literally not even two weeks ago. Also, not even Brad could save this video.

In a nutshell...

I believe one of the Walkers came out and said 'We got a lot of hits for the first one, therefore the format will be favoured yaboosucks!'

I hadn't touched Nostalgia Critic in a while after he started reviewing stuff that was still out in theatres, but I feel like his Force Awakens reviews sums up a lot of the issues I had with him in the past. 90% of the video is straight filler, nothing more than an unfunny parody plot summary of the movie. It takes him 15 whole minutes for him to actually hit really giving analysis of the movie beyond "this was predictable" or "that was similar to the previous films," and his point could have been summed up in 30 seconds. He's just wasting the audience's time and his own with the summary and skits. His reviews would be much more tolerable if he just posted them as a couple tweets, or did something similar to ProJared's one-minute-reviews, which would force him to cut out all the superfluous stuff and get straight to the point.

He also misses out a lot of the film. Why no mention of Hux? He was awesome! Why no pointing out the scene where the First Order destroys the New Republic's government? Why nothing about why BB-8 was important to the plot? Why no real mention of the conflict within Kylo Ren? Why did Brad waste his time with this shit besides doing a passable Harrison Ford impression?

Because that would take away from their gripping analysis about how the new film resembled all the other Star Wars films.

A clever analysis that only 90% of the people that watched the movie could figure out.

Did the Jurrasic Park 2015 review really do well? If so, how?

He's just trying to bring back Demo Reel even though it flopped harder than a Tom Preston project. There's no way any audience could put up with this shit, could they?

It did. I'm guessing it's to do with people seeing the title in search results and thinking he'll be offering an actual review, kinda like what he did with the videos he released with Chester A. Bum (remember him kids?) videos for a while. Then clicking the link and regretting their decision.

I took a look at the view count for some of these "Demo Reel in all but name" reviews on his channel.

Fuck, they've done excellent. He has over a million views on his Pixels, Jurassic World, and his Force Awakes review is on track to rack up over 100,000 in less than a day.

This is just depressing. He's actually succeeding in his pandering to the lowest possible common denominator he could've aimed for. I guess it's your own business what you want to watch, but I can't conceive what the appeal of a Demo Reel clone is to even the audience Seltzerberg aimed for.

One thing that annoys me is that Demo Reel was at least an idea. It may have been a bad idea that was executed horribly, but it was a somewhat original idea that Doug came up with. This weird NC+DR mix is just dumb, and is awful. But of course his fans eat it up because it's the Nostalgia Critic. If this was called Demo Reel, people would be clamoring about how awful it is and how Doug has no original ideas. Doug may be to blame, but without his entire audience bitching him out, both he and the viewers are to blame.

Except Demo Reel wasn't original. It was Garth Marenghi's Darkplace but if it massively ripped off movies and mocked them instead of being a parody of Stephen King's work.

Also if it wasn't funny either.

It's because he's doing current very controversial or very big movies movies and he has the SEO to score highly as a search option. The views do not indicate if people closed their browser when seeing that clownshoes.

It's why I'm not impressed with those numbers.

I'm still surprised his SEO's as good as it is. Doug did tremendous damage to his Net footprint with his website's name change, and that was without all the Blip links on the web being rendered worthless.

But even if he is still making good money, he's guaranteed to squander it. Doug's monetary skills are as sturdy as his hairline.

People search 'Nostalgia Critic' rather than 'That Guy With The Glasses' or what have you. That's how he kept his SEO.
