Not saying that I think a female should play young Han Solo, but I also wouldn't say it's an absolute impossibility. Sure as fuck wouldn't pick Kirsten Stewart.

Students haven't been required to say the Pledge of Allegiance in Massachusetts since the 1970s. You can just stand quietly while others say it.

Two reasons.
1)He thinks wanting to change an established male character into a STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMAN will get him brownie points with the internet progressive crowd he tries to fit in with
2)He gets to ship Fem Solo with whatever female characters would be in the movie, thus satisfying both his progressive shtick and his intense erotic obsession with lesbians.

In other words, the same reasons he was so caught up on Korrasami.

As for why he wants K-Stew, he probably just has a crush on her.
 
Or just say it. A lot of people say the pledge and don't give a shit. It's not a blood oath with a demon. The fact that Dobson let this little thing define him into adulthood makes him even more pathetic when I think about it.
 
The whole "pledge of allegiance"thing is a big no-no for SJW-types, as Saying it means they "support a racist, sexist, corrupt, albiest, ect government". A popular thing going around tumblr a while was comparing kids saying the pledge to the Hitler Youth and saying it was the same thing.

I bet my front teeth that good old Dobson didn't give a fuck about the pledge until the sjw crowd got pissed at it. (its more of unnecessary than anything, it was started to increase morale during the whole anti communist era but nobody gives a shit about communism anyway) Dobson's sellout to sjw is amazimg.
