I am aware that weed can cause freakouts in schizos, I wasn't sure about andy's unique brand of it.

As far as I'm concerned, a freakout would result in our little poopboy getting worse than just kicked out of a group home. He flips out on one caregiver, raises one hand and the gravy train would come to a screeching halt. But the home would of course know about this and not give it to him, and andy doesn't seem the type to sneak it from other people. We know some of his housemates use medicinal pot and he usually just tries to get them kicked out. He likely knows about it potentially making him freak out prematurely and thus tries to control his how housemates take it.

What they did was enable him. Janet coddled him like a teddy bear and kept him from getting punishment. She's the reason andy wasn't jailed for the oil diffuser incident, she got tom to drop the charges. And Tom? He's kind of a kook, always talking about how doctors and other groups will always be out to get you. As tough as tom acts, he always gives in to andy. So we have a spineless dad and an enabler mom.

I don't think anybody will ever understand how Andy's mind works and why he chooses to live this lifestyle. But I will add that I think the reason why he terriozes everybody around him is because he feels like people with Autism do that were they they make everybodys lives difficult.
