So basically that story is "I believe strongly in property rights and that one has absolute sole dominion over one's property. That's why I got really upset when people exercised their property rights to remove me from their property"
Zerzan's fun to read and his criticisms of modern culture are pretty thought provoking. That said you'd have to be a complete fucking moron to take primitivism seriously. Only way that's even remotely feasible is if you kill off millions of people. There are a lot of weird variations of anarchism. I think my favorite is anarcho-primitivism, which advocates for everyone to become stone age hunter-gatherers.
Head over to r/anarcho_capitalism if you want a laugh. They grapple with this regularly and their "solutions" to that logical conundrum come down to remaking the government, just a government that exists via contracts between businesses (I.E oligarchy). The really hilarious thing is that this kind of process is what a lot of old school communists believe is the genesis of the modern nation state (economically powerful people organizing to protect their own interests).Exactly. Why would anyone bother with any kind of market in a state of anarchy? You don't need to pay for anything owned by someone who's a worse shot than you are. And if the situation was reversed, why would they offer to let you buy or trade for something? If you had anything they wanted, they'd kill you and take it.
You know, for such an edgy bunch, they're almost overly optimistic. This belief that humans will behave civilly without a society that's built around forcing them to do so is bordering on childlike in it's naivete. I almost envy that level of faith in people; they must have a very pleasant view of the world.
Believe it or not Syria does have something of a functioning libertarian socialist community in Rojava. That isn't to say it's a utopia by any means imaginable (place is in civil war after all), but the Kurds have actually managed to create a pretty incredible experiment of decentralized government in the midst of all that chaos. Whether it survives long term is a different matter.Any time anyone proposes any form of anarchy, whether Anarcho-Capitalism or Anarcho-Communism, or any of its other mutations, all I can think of is Somalia and the current situation in Syria. We have modern, current examples of countries with extremely weak or non-existent central (and regional) governments; look where that's got them. Everyone's champing at the bit to run off to the freedom-filled utopia known as Somalia! .....Wait.
Nigga, you just explained the entire existence of the Dark Enlightenment in one sentence. despite the fact that they make ancaps look neurotypical in comparisonEvery lolbertarian is in favor of some form of authoritarianism once they have to come face to face with the fact that their ideas are total bullshit.
Wasn't sure where else to put this, I think r/anarchism may be deserving of it's own thread.
15-year-old edgelord can't stop punching people he disagrees with, gets in trouble, and whines.

Those motherfuckers strike me as neckbeards who read one too many fantasy novels
Has anybody seen this? It's old, I know, but hilarious.
The thing I find funny about these types is that they make a mistake about definitions, not human nature as Communism does, but it's still a silly mistake.
Their platform can be much more easily rendered "utterly unregulated capitalism", which makes no sense.
Capitalism requires some form of organization and structure to self perpetuate because the whole point is to be profitable, hence there needs to be some form of order if only to keep the wheels of the economic model going.
The saddest thing with an-caps is the ones that aren't naive tend to have such little care for most people, especially children. There's a child brothel in your town? Just shun the place and the owner and it will fall. Phooey on those kids and how we could've saved them sooner and their exploiters only get a slap on the wrist.
But somehow attacking the people running the shit is a violation of the non aggression principle.Ancaps will usually just be like "oh I ain't touching this" while Randroid types will go in swinging about how children are property. Its a weird subculture with equally weird dynamics.
