You guys are gonna get justly ticked off at me for failing to "archive everything," I know, but I popped over to his Bluesky earlier, which must've been close to his shut-down, and he didn't give me any indication he was about to DFE, but he was sperging out. Sorry no screenshots or anything, but I can describe the mood as an eyewitness.
  • Lots of posts where he mostly forgot to sign his posts to "-A" to signal that this post wasn't from his social media team (who Bluesky users should really be encouraging to unionize, by the way). But then once in a while he'd remember.
  • He was making long threads about how he was going to switch from "hard" to "soft" journalism, and mostly use Waypoints now to promote kink games he likes and "vtuber resources" rather than investigation pieces, because they were making his life too hard.
  • Further E-Begging of course.
  • Lots of whining about how vtubers won't improve and the "industry" will collapse. He predicts they will get increasing lewd to retain an audience and thus chase away sponsers.
  • Complaining about how other journalists and creators were too afraid of "drama" to stick their necks out and take up his cause.
  • Oh, and he did say how social media was draining his strength to create, which I suppose should have been a clue to me to start screencapping.

If you had done that in the first place, you wouldn't have been dabbed on by the entire community, you fucking coomdroid.

Thank you for archiving.

That's a lot of words Ana is using to say "My editor told me to STFU about my tranny vendettas and focus on the video games he's paying me $50 per article to write about"

Deactivating was probably a last-ditch effort to get some more attention and funds, the idea being that Ana's supporters would now publicly wail about how he was driven off social media and rush to support him. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have worked. This is the only post mentioning "Ana Valens" in the last 24 hours:

You heard it here boys and girls, this poor transwoman was chased off the internet forced to work to limit his online time significantly.

The gaming journalism industry is apparently having a rough time:

2.webp

The only one having a rougher time is Ana's "social media team," who have apparently all ceased to exist.

After weeks of begging, tagging journalists, and frantically deleting and undeleting accounts for attention, it's slowly starting to sink in that nobody is coming:

As I’ve mentioned before, the thing that really depresses me isn’t facing online harassment, but feeling kind of isolated and abandoned by the wider media landscape. And seeing the sentiment that I was responsible for being harassed. That was really why I decided to move away from serious reporting.

It’s been very depressing. Other women in journalism are quick to reach out. Men act like they don’t see it and it isn’t their problem. I fear some believe I deserved what I got. I don’t really believe in games journalism as a force for change anymore

The whole space is so limited and weighed down. And I see the writing on the wall, ie certain people just don’t like me and would rather throw me to the dogs if it means someone they dislike is out of the game. It’s not the harassment itself that gets to me. It’s that stuff

Sorry folks. I know my work has inspired a lot of people here over the years. I just feel like the rug was pulled out from under me and I’ve had my limit. And that many colleagues have watched what happened to me silently and said nothing, even privately. I’m not the only case of this either

The funny thing is that when he says "Other women in journalism are quick to reach out" he means like 4-5 fellow troons and no one else. The only real woman who seems to support him is this poor soul, a woman in her thirties who spends her time posting erotica and nudes to Bluesky and getting almost no engagement.

Other women
*Trans women

I fear some believe I deserved what I got.
"I kicked a beehive by going after the hentai group, then I kicked a wasp nest by going after Kirsche. How could this all have happened???"

I don’t really believe in games journalism as a force for change anymore
It's games journalism. They've been glorified advertisements since the 80s. lol go outside.

Yeah uh maybe admitting every single fucking thought and fetish online is a bad idea, because you posted YOU ENJOYED KIDDIE PORNOGRAPHY and did it in such a way that everyone could tell you were lying about having that particular symptom of OCD that tortured you, you're just a terminal gooner who wants to fuck kids. You threw stones and forgot how your house was made of glass.

Because Ana has read the thread before:
This is all your fault, Anastasia Catherine Wythe. You never will take responsibility because you are an evil, evil person and know that if you admit you were, almost no one woukd talk to you and you'd have no one to unwillingly expose your kinks on. This is not Kirsche and every single other person's fault that people hate you, this is entirely due to your own actions and words. People abandoned you for libel and crossing that kink line. Every other person is the subject of your kingdom who should bow down to you or be thrown in the dungeon, and NOBODY fucking likes those kinds of people. They hate you because you are extremely unpleasant, and it is why most of your friends stop and drop you after a year. The rest abandon you because they were merely allies, and you decided to light your own hair on fire and expect them to rescue you. They won't, you're not actually their friend.

You will end up lonely and unfulfilled, and will have to work a real job with the rest of the peasants who aren't as bright and wonderful as you think you are. Fuck you, I hope you never get the opportunity to push anyone IRL's boundaries and are never able to goon again. I hope your writing fades into greater obscurity, only being brought up to be ridiculed. And I hope if you commit any physical crime against anyone of any gender, you get sent to jail and forgotten about forever, you absolutely defective and hollow failure. You pathetic cry bully and utter fucking coward.

Fuck you.

oh man, feeling isolated and abandoned is essentially the worst feeling in the world. it's followed by questions of your own worth, you become lonely and start to wonder why you're even alive. eventually every other thought becomes "i shouldn't be here anymore", "i don't want to be here anymore", or "i'm so tired", "please don't make me awaken tomorrow". after a while even those thoughts start to get replaced with images of ending it, plans on how to end it. money's tight and time is running out, but maybe you set aside a little bit for an inevitable trip down to the dunham's to check out their selection of $140 revolvers. "if these people who say they care about me aren't doing anything to help, do they even care?" no, they don't care. they say they do care, but they don't care. they're letting you slip through the cracks on purpose because doing anything to help you would be entirely too inconvenient for themselves. your life is simply not worthwhile to them. can you blame them? it's not worthwhile to you either. all you ever do is think about ending it...

anyway, couldn't have happened to anyone more deserving

What a fucking moron.
He was making long threads about how he was going to switch from "hard" to "soft" journalism, and mostly use Waypoints now to promote kink games he likes and "vtuber resources" rather than investigation pieces, because they were making his life too hard.
That was obvious from checking and archiving the most recent 24 sharticles, except for the "More People Are Searching up Stuff About VTubers. That’s Good and Bad" one that made it past the vacant editorial desk in an abandoned building.
Lots of whining about how vtubers won't improve and the "industry" will collapse. He predicts they will get increasing lewd to retain an audience and thus chase away sponsers.
Projection from his own shit vtuber hobby.
Oh, and he did say how social media was draining his strength to create, which I suppose should have been a clue to me to start screencapping.
Drain your STR all the way to zero, wankubus.

He is reposting people v-signing this gay pledge he made:
The Virtual Persona Pledge (archive) (ghost) (wayback)

The Virtual Persona Pledge

As a Versona / VSona, I pledge to:

  1. Create content that does not promote bigotry, including (but not limited to) racism, colorism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, and whorephobia
  2. Foster a community that is welcoming to marginalized viewers across races, genders, sexualities, classes, disabilities, religions, cultures, and various other walks of life
  3. Treat my colleagues in the way I would like to be treated. If I have a disagreement with another, I will engage in good faith dialogue and honest communication. If our differences are unresolvable, I will refrain from gossip, rumor-spreading, sabotage, and other harmful behaviors
  4. Moderate my community to the best of my ability. As a creator, I understand that I set the tone and standard for my fans. Viewers who express bigotry will not be tolerated. Fans who harass others on my behalf will be shown the door
  5. Demonstrate healthy boundaries between myself and my fans. Parasocial relationships are normal in content creation, but I will create and maintain healthy boundaries with my audience. I will not encourage fans to obsess over me to the detriment of their mental health nor financial stability. I will inform myself of authoritarian cult behavior [PreserveTube archive] to protect myself, my fans, and others from manipulation
  6. Protect minors from harm. If my streams involve mature, explicit, or otherwise sexual content, underage viewers will be banned. There will be clear, obvious, and unavoidable indicators that my content is 18+ only. If I am a lewdtuber, my Discord server will engage in age verification measures
  7. Respect creators who walk a different path than my own. I will respect difference of religion. I will respect cultural differences. I will respect different content creation paths other than my own. If I am a SFW creator, I will not stigmatize nor disparage NSFW creators. I respect sex work as work, even if it is not the job for me
  8. Listen to criticism from marginalized viewers and creators with compassion. I understand that no one is perfect, and if I struggle or make mistakes, I will make a good faith effort to understand marginalized viewers’ point of view
I invite others who use virtual avatars to hold themselves to a higher set of standards, ones that are not being met by certain parts of the contemporary ENVTubing community.
It includes a rebranding of VTuber to "VSona":

The Virtual Persona Pledge

A different approach to creating content via a virtual avatar, distinct from (but sometimes intersecting with) VTubing.

Ana Valens

It is my simple and firm belief that the English-language VTubing industry has a rot. A rot that’s festered with transphobia, homophobia, racism, colorism, misogyny, and whorephobia.

Yes, many VTubers and VTuber fans are lovely people. But there are bad actors running rampant in the space, causing problems. Problems that have existed for years. Problems that cannot be changed without wider community consensus. Yet the contemporary ENVTubing community is too conflict-averse to address these issues. Until this mindset changes, bigotry will continue to be a major issue in English VTubing.

Additionally, it is my personal belief that the VTubing community has major problems with harassment, emotional maturity, healthy boundaries between viewers and creators, and a focus on popularity and profit over creation and community. With these things in mind, I would like to introduce a set of rules and guidelines for other creators to pledge to, under a specific name separate from VTubing.

This is called “The Virtual Persona Pledge,” with “Versona” or “VSona” for short. “Versona” / “VSona” is an identity that creators can use as an alternative to “VTuber.” They can also use it in conjunction with “VTuber.” The goal is to introduce a name and identity with a code of conduct that one holds themselves to, with a set of values and behavioral standards one promises to meet and maintain.

If you would like to commit to the pledge listed above, feel free to sign your name below along with your preferred socials, either on here or on the Bluesky post this will be shared in. Consider this a code of conduct to hold oneself to, one’s community to, and each other to.

Thanks. And with love,

Can we take a moment to appreciate just how far VICE has fallen? I remember the days when founder Shane Smith would personally go to Liberian drug dens and secret North Korean labor camps to film. Sure, it was always curated to some extent (gonzo journalism is almost never as “gonzo” as it appears) but he went those places and did that shit. It was special and it was what made VICE the billion dollar company it used to be, not the tranny gooner vtuber shit they’re doing now. VICE is no longer on HBO because nobody wants to engage with content like “I shoved an eggplant up my neovagina and here’s what I learned”.
