I actually took a break from big AL, and when i seen she was doing Optiva I so hard.

If she does get WLS almost every doctor puts you on a liquid diet before and after. Ive seen pre op liquid diets that have ranged from 3 days to 10 days.

There are 2 reasons I think that AL wont he successful in her weighloss until she gets mental health help.

1. Being fat is her identity. She uses it as a crutch and an excuse. People hate her, its bc shes fat. Job didn't hire her, its bc shes fat. Believing people hate you is a lot less hurtful when you can blame it on something that can be changed.

2. AL will not allow herself to just sit in the discomfort of restriction and telling herself no. Just like with any addiction, the first few days/weeks are horrible. Sugar withdrawal is real, ive dealt with it. Yes you will get headaches but the emotional part is the worst. You get grouchy, and then sad. But it all boils down to impulse control. Sit in the discomfort. You are not going to die if you dont get the food you want, but you might die of you do get it.

Also, like any addict... when ur time isnt consumed by ur habits, it leaves a lot of time for self-evaluation. And that can be the hardest part.

She was looking for any reason to quit she said which confused me. Why look for an excuse to quit? I mean just quit if you want to quit. You are only letting yourself down and re-establishing that you can’t count on yourself to do anything you set your mind to, and proving everyone right about you.
 
Is 900 calories food for you? Not for a normal person. Maybe if we took it in a vacuum it would be bad for an obese person too, but when we take into account she's basically 600 pounds with everyday potentially being her last, a drastic diet to get her down to a healthy level is good. It's like chemo, yes it's terrible for the body, but it is a necessity for certain cancer patients to survive
Is a person going to learn healthy eating from a 900 calorie diet? No, but she clearly didn't care in the first place because you also don't learn healthy eating from eating instant foods
If Amby still actually had an issue with 900 calories she could have switched to the 3&3 diet plan. Or hell, keep the 5&1 diet plan but double it herself to a 10&2 plan so she is eating 1800 calories. That'll cost her around 800$ a month but she claims to spend well over than normally anyways. Sure it's probably absolutely terrible for you but she clearly didn't do any research into the health part of optavia anyways so what does she care? Now she can eat basically once an hour and still lose weight
 
We can sit here trying to think of why she would choose such a stupid way out of Optavia until we are blue in the face. The simple fact is that she was facing a choice: stop the gluttony or death. Even her 90 IQ is robust enough to realize that death was not the optimal outcome.

However, once faced with the reality of stopping the gluttony (i.e. she had nothing to do for hours until it was time for her next paltry Feeling, which cured nothing), her impulses took precedence over her brain, and she decided that gluttony is the better way to go because death may still be a few years or even a decade off and she still has time to figure something out. (Which she won't; institutionalization or hospitalization are the only choices for her)

She can't stop being a glutton; it is who she is. It would be like telling Picasso he couldn't be an artist anymore; might as well just hand him a gun and watch him blow his brains out.

Let's face it; she flat-out admitted that the program was working (which was probably a lie, but we'll take it at face value) and that she literally had to rack her brains to come up with an excuse to quit. She admitted she found an excuse (which is bizarre and lulzy: she wasn't eating enough) and ditched it like we all knew she would. She needs to eat, and she needs to eat without intervention of any sort. It isn't even a choice anymore. It's like expecting a bear to stop shitting in the woods.
 
You know if Becky decided to do the program with the wasted product she bought Big Al wouldn’t allow that. Becky isn’t allowed to get healthy either. That should prove to Becky just how much our gorl “loves” her.

Yup, exactly! She flat out admitted she was looking for a reason to quit, so finding one wasn't hard. Death probably isn't something she contemplates on any serious level, because death is what happens to other (unluckier) people and she "knows what works for her." *sigh* By the time she has a true change of heart, no amount of medical intervention will matter. Willful ignorance will be the death of her. Whatever sympathy I have is only reserved for her animals, who deserve so much better than this.
 
So I noticed she didn't post anything about Becky on Valentine's Day. Wouldn't someone who's sooo in love~ over post about their significant other? Especially someone like Amber who wants everyone to think she's in a healthy relationship?

1. I don't think Amber can stand up and walk around anymore (which is, IMO, the main reason she was desperately clinging to the idea that Optavia would work for her. For at least the few minutes it took her to hit the "buy it now" button, Amber was acknowledging the fact that she needs to lose some weight), so going out to eat might be a huge ordeal (unless they manage to convince other people to go along, or Amber is using a walking aid),
2. Amber is probably angry with Becky because Becky's family doesn't love her.

Big Al’s idea of a good Valentine’s Day is going to the Cheesecake Factory, followed by eating an entire box of chocolates from Wommart. Afterwards, she’d give Becky a Christian side hug and a small peck on the lips before drifting into a sugar coma.

Amber is terminally willfully dumb. Exactly.

I do think that AL and Becky’s lowkey VDay is a bit interesting considering the timing of learning of evidence of Becky’s family’s distain of her. Perhaps they have finally gotten through to her and she is planning her escape.

Would l love it if all 3 housemates of AL moved out leaving her with a milk crate table and a newspaper on the floor to potty on near the bed? Yes I would.

On a more realistic note, why doesn’t AL hire a private chef to come over and cook a week’s meal once a week for her? She can afford it, they can keep it in her calorie safety zone and she might try some new things that she can learn herself. Ok that last part is less likely.

If she does that- 3 meals a day 1500 cals no snacking and 30 minutes of movement in the morning and evening she should see some major results. Even if she is bedbound she can get a small hand weight and get her upper body moving at least. If she wants to save her life this is the first part. The second is getting a therapist. Kandy (hungryfatchick) has a therapist that comes to her because she is similar situation as AL- big as a house and can’t drive. She needs to do this at least once a week, but I think she should start with 2x.

AL- i’ll Break it down so you don’t get overwhelmed

1. Therapist to come to you
2. Personal chef
3. Move

Do it for a month with no cheating and you could easily lose 40lbs

The silence from our gorl is deafening, and I think the optavia "scandal" is only a small part in it. Amber narcs out over pretty much everything in her life and will stubbornly force her version of the narrative on all of us regardless of whether we're buying it or not (spoiler: we never are) - complete with a flippant "lol" and a cry laughing emoji or two. I think things are really starting to get out of her control, and I suspect the key here is Becky's family biting back.

Clearly some falling out happened... has anyone looked at the timeline of Becky's sister's posts and where Amber was on her optavia journey? I wonder if it began the day they went over Becky's sister's place and they ordered pizza. It's easy to imagine our gorl losing her shit ala "TALKIN' SHIT, YO" from that game night video awhile back, and royally pissing off the Thumb Dynasty. Cuz, you know... how dare anyone eat anything Amber can't eat too. I'm sure she was sensitive, jealous and beyond her usual cunt level that night, eyeing up the greasy extra cheese dominos while gnawing on her fuelings.

On top of that, Valentine's Day and the lack of coverage from our gorl is also extremely telling. In the past she's shared pics of the tylenol, piss pads and dove chocolate Becky bought her to show off how great her BAAAaaaaAAayyyyYYBbbbUH is - combined with the amount of haydurs questioning their relationship and asking her if she's bothered by Dustin's engagement, you'd think she'd be going overboard trying to convince us she's actually doing BETTER than her ex and all of us for that matter.

It's obvious things are reaching a whole new level of dire for Amber - I just wonder when we'll finally get the climax of drama we've all been waiting for! :story:

I mean.... I can understand Amber being upset and frustrated at watching everyone else eat food she wants to eat but needs to avoid. She should have stayed home. It's unlikely Becky's family would have been upset if she didn't come along. That might have prevented the recent friction between Amber and Becky's family, but ultimately Amber still would have quit Optavia, because Becky/Ricky/Eric weren't going to alter their eating at home to avoid Amber being tempted by food she couldn't have. Any diet that eliminates her ability to eat food she likes is doomed to fail for that reason.
