Although stupid for purchasing such an expensive program (OPTAVIA) she could easily replicate at home, there is the (slim) chance Amber could lose enough weight to be noticeably less globular. Amber needs to safeguard against burn-out and even slight temptations for it to work longterm, hypothetically even if she does shed a few pounds so as not to gain back more.

Probably not. She's logged in for a week or so at a time for quite a while, but rarely completes a diary entry.

As best I can tell she just uses her account to collect asspats for just showing up. I've never seen her respond to any comments or even make any timeline posts of her own. Everything I see from her is the occasional automated post from the site itself.

I can't even see a lot of her posts on MFP but I get a little notification to congratulate her now and again.
 
Day 3 on optivia (still cant pronounce it): my ass is now leaking orange and I cant feel my right side but, gorls stop prescribing me disease...the doctor just said that i was a bruised shin....
 
So today is supposed to be what, day 6 on Optavia? Gotta hand it to her, she's succeeding in drumming up the anticipation by going dark for so many days after her manic excitement over this program. Then again, if her history is any indication, going dark means she has already failed and is trying to get over being embarrassed about it and think up of some excuse to tell us when she finally makes a video.

Though there's still a sweet little center of my cold black heart that hopes that she actually does find something that works for her soon. Her life has to suck so hard.
 
I think all you have to do is keep a tab open on a computer and it counts as "logging in" if I recall from my too lazy to close tab days.
 
I have a funny feeling that instead of making the expected "Why Optavia wasn't for me"/"Why I stopped Optavia"/etc. video when she fails, Amber's just going to stop talking about it and never mention it again. If she owns up to quitting, she's going to get a metric fuckton of told-you-so's, and after going full CuntyLynn on the hayders and extolling how she's done so much research, guise, and it's totally amazeballs and not a pyramid scam!, she won't be able to stomach (heh) the fallout.

I wouldn't be surprised if Optavia not working for Amber actually affects her mental health quite a lot. I think the reason that Amber was bouncing off the wall with excitement over Opatvia is because the "health coach" told Amber that she could lose 200lbs in one year. You can see in the video where she is talking about it, just how excited she is about the idea of losing so much weight and so quickly, she almost loses the ability to speak properly. When she has that moment of realisation that it is all BS, she will be very depressed over it, in her mind she has already lost the weight and the rest of the details are irrelevant.

Telling a food addict who weights 550lbs that they can lose 200lbs in a year is a very powerful lie, there is a reason why Amber isn't listening to reason and I think that this lie is the root cause of it.

I was thinking that too. She really seemed so sure this was the magic pill otherwise she wouldn't have been defending it so much. If she wasn't sure she would of just been like "I'm trying this new program, something different to see if it will work for me before considering WLS" but she was like "1000s of people lost weight on this guize, my life is about to change, then when I lose 200 pounds Becky and me will be getting our own place to have hot lesbian sex 10x a week"
 
I'm optimistic that she can lose weight if she sticks to this program and doesn't deviate. But after? Don't take me for a fool, Amber can easily gain all the weight she theoretically loses in 3 months back within a week.

Maybe not 200lbs, but she could lose a decent amount of weight pretty quick if she just ate what a normal person eats, a 2000 calorie balanced diet (which I know is too much to ask for). At this point how many calories does she really eat in a day? Almost 8000?

At this point I don't think Amber wants to eat less, she just wants to be thin and still eat everything that she wants to eat.

Yeah I'm totally aware of that. Honestly I think there isn't any hope left for her. She hasn't accomplished anything in life, has a fucked up family, and hates what she has become, but hey, food!
