I think it would take alot more than the average therapist to get through all of AL and to figure that out. AL did say she hoards so much because she didn't have those things growing up so it might connect to other things as well.

It’s funny when you remember that Big Al isn’t 16. She’s nearly 30 & she is this immature. The girl peppered her criticism with ass kissing & still Big Al blocks her!!! If you don’t agree with every bad decision & dumb ass idea she as then you are automatically deemed a “haydur”. & the girl acts oh so shocked!!

I don't think I've been following Amber for as long as you have, but I too remember when this sub-forum was just a thread. Unlike many here, Kiwi Farms introduced me to Amber.

I came to the same conclusion as you by noticing the titles she used to give to her videos and her behaviour in videos after a new weight loss "journey" would begin.
Amber is no genius, but she has an uncanny ability to manipulate YT to her benefit. Before she reached 500lb there were plenty of videos with titles like "what a 500lb girl eats", "fat girl exercises" and variations of 500lbs/fat girl does insert activity here.

Amber has been selling herself as the circus' fat lady for years now. If she lost the weight, she would lose her "job". Besides, up until recently (and Amber admits that in a video made a few days/weeks ago), she was the fat girl with the pretty face/hair. If she lost the weight she would be just another girl. All the "specialness" would be gone.

As for her behaviour every time she announces a new diet, I noticed that as soon as the few videos showing how excited she is to finally lose weight are done, Amber gets very "defensive" and easily butthurt and slows/stops making videos/talking about her "journey".
I suspect the reason she becomes so "defensive" and "butthurt" is because she isn't really doing anything and is afraid of her lies coming to light, so she takes a break from the "negativity".

IMO she doesn't have to be a weight loss success story, all she has to do is continue to be the freak show. Amber wheels people in with the promise of a shared journey, but she knows that many of the people who stick to her are going to eventually use her videos to feel better about themselves. She also knows that the only people remaining for the long run are the haydurz, and that she will be mocked.

Her ego demands she stops making videos/sharing her life, but her greed forces her to come back. So far the greed is winning, but it's breaking her in the process.
 
Big Al is unintelligent. stubborn, greedy, and incredibly self-absorbed. We can debate nature/nurture 'til the cows come home (:biggrin:), but there's no A to B to C formula that created Big Al.

She has obvious psychological glitches and desperately needs help; but a therapist will only identify the problems and try to smooth them out. As fascinating as we might find it, no therapist is gonna do an in depth psychological study on her.....

ETA: I found Big Al through the Farms, too. I've thought all along that the "weight loss journey" was just the gimmick she used to scam the cash outta her viewers. It's all about money and , since she's been monetized, it always has been.

if AL is smart she'd make this Optavia thing work for her. Her weight gain has all been about money but maybe the weight loss can now make bigger profits. Just what AL has been waiting for- to make money off losing weight. Figure a handful of viewers are fatties and see it works for AL when nothing else has they will buy it under her. She might even get new viewers buying. It'll be funny to think AL would be considered a health coach. Hopefully she's not the bottom cow kicking up cash to the 5 cows above. There's atleast 1 cow above that she's buying from and that cow probably knows if AL starts selling what a profit it would kick back to her. Not sure how much commission they make but some people are successful sales people with those pyramid sales. So she would have her $15k+ a month from youtube plus income from selling some granola bars if she doesn't eat them all like she did with those girl scout cookies.

The salesman/scam artist already fits her the same way she has a way of sweet talking in new viewers.

I think most ALR viewers are overweight to obese and ALR’s extreme weight and horribleness makes them feel better about themselves. That’s pretty much how she got where she is.
 
Kiwifarms should do a poll on when people started watching Big Al. I started when she broke up with Crystal & moved to Florida with Destiny. (Ahhh. The good ol’ days). I’m a Big Al veteran. So do I get like a silver platter of orange chicken or something??

I’d be interested to find out when other people started watching her.
 
It's been a day since her last video. Where the hell is the "unboxing" video? I thought she would be all excited and want to teach us all about the "delicious" food she got in her shipment and show an example of her "what I eat in a day"

I mostly lurk but just discovered AL through KF just a few months ago. As a pair of fresh eyes, I must say she's still very convincing when it comes to pretending like she wants to get better. However, I've been around long enough now to see her infamous cycle and know better now. It's very morbid watching her slowly kill herself.
 
How many ‘supporters’ is she willing to block/piss off/be rude to before she realises she’s not actually famous, and since her job is being a poor mans version of a socialite she needs all the followers possible so she can make a living?? She genuinely must think blocking everyone that doesn’t agree with her will work in her favour, and she will be left with the superior followers who shower her with love and compliments only even if they are lies. Talk about walking through life with blinkers on. Cabbage.

I found her channel when I was looking for vegan information. Her video popped up because in the Destiny era, she was vegan for a day. I was fascinated with her narcissism and went back and binge watched all her previous videos. I'd already been following KF for DSP shit for a long time (even pre SOK) and noticed she was on here.
