Her story is obviously bullshit, they would never house an adolescent with adults. Not even in the shittiest hospitals that wouldn't let your shower or don't have scrubs/washer and dryer if you came with only one set of clothing. A teen being housed with adults is such liability that no hospital would risk it.

I can see them refusing to let her shower if she was suicide risk. Mental health technicians should not be watching you shower, you'd have to wait until the nurse was free to watch over you and they are always busy. Though "they would not let me shower" is just Amber speak for "I got a talking to for not washing".
 
It could be true. Granted this is Big Al and default setting is not to believe, but bathrooms are the single biggest danger in mental health wards.

I'd guess she maybe was one of those kids that was acting out then a stint on an MH ward scares them silly. It's different in specifics everywhere, but the first 24-48 hours at least is usually high obs, so someone is checking on the patient every 10-15 minutes. Plenty of those patients will try any attempt to kill themselves and the bathroom is the most dangerous place - dependent on how long acute obs are kept up, the choice may be having a nurse with you while you shower or no shower at all. And then the really terribly depressed are barely alive, hygiene is somewhere on the other side of the fug.

The way she talks about her depresshuns, the convenience of it, the cognitive dissonance of sitting in front of a camera shrieking it to the world....none of it makes much sense; its contradictory and not cohesive. And if she had ever been that far gone, she'd know how serious it was and not use it for pity points. I have no doubt she was a messed up kid, but something is off about the whole thing.

This is absolute bullshit. They would have let her shower, they just wouldn't let her have access to razors for shaving, or anything else in the bathroom that she could use to harm herself or others. Hospitals also have multiple pairs of spare scrubs/clothes for patients who come in with only one set, or aren't brought any more from someone they know.
 
Many mental health wards have timed showers, they are similar to public beach or poolside showers in that the water will run for just a few seconds so that the person using them has to repeatedly press the button to have a constant flow of water at 10 second intervals. At public places it conserves water and minimizes risk. In mental institutions or wards shower rooms, nurses can stand near the door and hear/monitor whether the shower is being used.

Obs are common at all times on most closed wards (usually 15-30 mins). Shower times are usually restricted to 10-15 minutes maximum. Patients can usually lock the door so that other patients can't open it but the nurses have a key.

No way did she share a ward with adults if she was a minor or still under the jurisdiction of child services. Her lying is almost as pathological as her inhability to put down the fork and her chronic narcissism.

The fact that she's giving her Mom advice on losing weight is hilarious. "You're lucky, you don't have an eating disorder (read 'excuse') like me. It should be so easy for anyone but me...blah blah, nobody has it as bad as me."

I'm sure her Mom has some real shower horror stories though... (:_(
 
So our self-aware girl posted a few Snapchats last night. In this one she said "Wow, they have a filter of my face!" but lest we think she was being serious, she made sure to let us know she was being sarcastic.
I'm sure she thinks this is like a funhouse mirror, but I imagine this filter is a sneak preview of what Amber is going to look like in about a month, after the Binge Monster gets triggered by Weight Watchers and bullies Becky into buying bags of half-price Halloween candy.

She hasn't used the word "disorder" for her binge eadeeeen on videos since the BH debacle but clearly she's convinced the diagnosis was completely legit and she's lidurly helpless when it comes to her weight. If we lived 500 years ago she'd be blaming a witch for her weight gain.

Dude, you got put into a mental hospital, likely involuntarily since she would have been a minor and were kept for almost a week. Totally sane. Here is some info about minors being committed

Voluntary admission of minors upon the parent's or guardian's request
A child's parent or legal guardian may seek to admit a child to a mental health facility. If the child does not have a parent or guardian, some other person who is taking care of the child can request the admission.

Certification before the voluntary admission of a child
Before voluntary admission, the child must be examined by any of the following:

  • A psychiatrist
  • A clinical psychologist
  • A clinical social worker
The examiner must provide a certificate in writing. The certificate must contain the following information:

  • The child has a mental illness or emotional disturbance
  • The illness must be of so severe that hospitalization is necessary
  • The child will likely benefit from inpatient treatment
  • The reasons for coming to this conclusion
  • An explanation of why other form of treatment is not an option
Since she was 17, she was probably able to go on her own. This is for Illinois, but I have a feeling that the guidelines for admission and discharge are probably pretty much the same across the board.

Here it is, sometimes I think it's easier to look for her vids here on her main page rather than scrolling through her YT channel.
I just watched this entire mindnumbing video and can't find any footage of her opening the car door unless I somehow missed it. Just Big Al and Becks sitting in that park, then holing up in their motel room and getting fried oreos delivered. Also the very riveting footage of Amber showing us her pile of dirty makeup wipes.

Jesus. I forgot just how bad the Pride vlog period was.

More freakin' bubbles. One should feel embarrassed if all the filters do is make you look bulbous; as with her jokes, she fails to see the irony in them. She loves that exceptional look in the second pic, the one with the glasses, dainty mouth and cat-nose with manga-sized eyes, and fragile, Xmas tree ornament shape; she has a million variants of it (Each more eerie and disturbing as the last as the pounds pile on.) She thinks they are cute, but most women would be horrified.

Hmmm, I was under the impression it was a local restaurant. I was looking for it the other day in my history to watch how she leans towards Becky to close the car door with all her weight.

This would be alot easier if her titles weren't shit and her content wasnt shit. Sorry.

The only explanation on the cleavage thing is that Becky likes it. She finally got boobs but they still suck and she has no idea how to handle them.

Our gorl has unwittingly implied many times that the only sexual attention she values is from males. Her new udder upgrade is not being displayed for Becky's benefit, and even before she bloated so much that her tits became slightly less disproportionately tiny, she shoved her cleavage into every shot she could. She wants validation from males, not from titless she-thumbs who dress like them.
