True, but her videos don't have much replay value. It's not like someone who posts how-to videos or tech reviews or prank vids or something else that remains useful or funny for years. Her old videos are useful only to make funny compilation videos with. The total number of views for each really don't move much a few days after they are uploaded. Unless one is specifically curious about the details of Amberlynn and Destiny's relationship or something, there is little to draw in a new viewer. Her big draw has always been "what is gonna happen next?" If nothing is uploaded, that question goes unanswered and then there is no draw.
 
I'm not saying Amber has ever produced quality content. I'm saying that having an old channel with so many videos (and the type YT finds to be advertiser-friendly) helps boost her in youtube's algorithim, which broadens her reach.

I totally agree. People who get WLS that alters the stomach are all trying to stop eating so much. But some people get a duodenal switch surgery instead, which only affects the small intestine and severely limits absorption. It has a way higher death rate, but most patients eat like truckers and cannot get super obese again if they tried. she's gonna die soon anyway, so it's not such a bad deal for really hopeless cases like AL. Not a lot of surgeons do it, but it might be her only real option since she doesn't want to stop bingeing.
 
I think with deathfats, the standard procedure is to give them a gastric sleeve and they have it until they've lost enough weight to survive the more complicated gastric bypass procedure, at which point the sleeve is removed.

I think that's what Assanti did? I'm getting my deathfats confused but I know I've seen it.

A lot of her sit down videos where she's not cackling or screeching make for nice background noise while cleaning or doing other chores, and they're good for a laugh when you already know how badly her plans are going to turn out.
 
I agree that she wants to jump to being thin because she assumes she will be as happy as all the girls she sees online and out in the world. But since she's never been a healthy weight in her entire life, she doesn't realize that it won't be the magic thing that makes her happy. She will hate herself just as much even if she could snap her fingers and be skinny tomorrow.

Being huge is a shield for Amber. It's allowed her to create this parasitical lifestyle, to take no accountability, to remain in a state of arrested development where all adulting is done by others even down to the basic maintenance of her pets. Then it gives her an out for all those who are revolted by her manipulative, solipsistic and bone-idle personality - Amber doesn't have to face any of her very unpleasant character flaws; she has the perfect opt-out "they hate me because I'm fat."

Amber is the type of stupid that thinks its clever and she is prone to magical thinking. She envisages thin, successful, adored ALR whereas reality is she'd be just as despised, just as stunted. Her version of thin Amber isn't anything to do with what would actually happen if she dropped 400+ lbs overnight - her skeleton won't recover, she'll have tons of excess droopy skin, her lymph system is damaged. She'll always have the droopy, downturned face of the megafats, these things are permanent. And she won't have the sparkling, Trasha Payme YT funded reality lifestyle which, to her, is the epitome of class because outside the trainwreck, who is going to watch her fiddle with hideous plastic jewellery, read from barely literate journals or endure the Thumb's relentless stories? Amongst everything else, they are both very, very boring.

Amber's problem is Amber. Her size is the least of it, really.

I predicted when she was actually doing weigh ins and gaining at the beginning of the year that with her rate of gaining it would be around mid-October for 600lbs. I am now thinking that she is right on course.

Well, I guess it should come as no surprise that she is exceptional.

She doesn't get that the haydurs weren't offended by her psychotic video. The haydurs long ago learned to shrug their shoulders and roll their eyes at her idiocy.

The people who were most offended, judging from the comments, are the people who really were in her corner. The ones who told her they supported her despite all the nasty comments around them. The ones who battle their own weight issues and see something of themselves in Amberlynn. The "real" supporters that she pays lip service to whenever she disses the audience ("oh, I don't mean my real supporters") They took offense at the video because they saw it as mocking them and their efforts as well as making a mockery of Amberlynn's own rapid decline.

So far, she actually has lost subscribers due to this little stunt. She lost only a net total of 9 today, but she consistently adds 130+ a day and never has come close to a net loss of subscribers in a day. This isn't enough to do permanent damage, but it depends how she handles it from here. If she pisses off the "real" supporters again, she might actually see a bigger decline. Not appearing in up-to-date videos regularly will not help her subscriber count either. Bigger channels than hers have fallen apart due to the same things; pissing off devoted viewers and not delivering promised videos. It would be interesting if she had to cope with a decline in viewership. I wonder what wacky stunt she would do to bring them back?
