Amber also wisely listened to a pharmacist and quit taking the HRT she was on like a big moron. The pharmacist told her she shouldn't have been taking it because HRT meds can contribute to uterine cancer, but the big dummy didn't talk to her oncologist to find out that you NEED HRT after hysterectomy to replace the hormones your body can no longer produce. I had breast cancer and the aftercare is pretty similar. She 100% should be taking HRT, that's why her hair is falling out so bad. She's also putting herself at a pretty high risk of osteoporosis by not taking the HRT, that along with the stress her bones are already under, is going to get interesting for her, especially if she has a real fall.I'm not caught up on the "cancer arc," but getting only surgery with no chemo, radiation, or hormone blockers is very suspicious...
especially since it's impossible to know whether the uterine cancer would metastasize.
Follow-up: Even with surgery alone, guidelines recommend pelvic exams, CA-125 blood tests, and imaging (CT every 6–12 months for 2–3 years, then annually) to monitor for metastasis.
If she tested positive for cancer cells and this was the course of action with no further screening or testing, then (if true) these are the only possibilities:
- ALR refused all post-surgery therapy, aftercare, and follow-up.
- The doctor was not following protocol.
