I think that this kind of thing happens more often than not in GW. At a certain point you have to wonder how much $$$ is moving behind the scenes - how these reactors get their scoops, how they find their information. I remember a while back Zachary (I think) had mentioned that Rosie, another tryhard GW wannabe, offered him money to make reactions about her content. There's a lot of money in GW, and I don't think that it's a coincidence that sometimes certain things come off as staged or exaggerated for the sake of views or content.

This is indeed how it is. The UK and EU have GDPR laws, meaning you have the right to revoke consent from your data being used at any time. When consent is revoked the receiving party legally has to cease all publication and processing of that data, delete it, and notify you of its removal. The US has no such laws.
