I think that Emily is still lying (or at least omitting) a lot of stuff, and maybe she has video proof of what the fuck happened, she's just waiting for Hambo to harass her again.
It could have been just that the security cameras weren't taken care of properly. The cheap ones are mostly a deterrent for petty thieves so its just the fact that they are present, thats enough. I dont think emily bothered to keep up on anything so the batteries may have died and it just wasn't an issue till amber came around. Im sure there was a fight over emily either not putting batteries in the cameras or putting them in the cameras cause ambers fucking crazy. I could see her going from "why dont you have footage of the cat going missing which way did she go" to " why are you putting batteries in the camera what do you not trust me?"
There is one thing that struck me as strange, when she read her stupid journal and she said she was woken up by Emily with some sort of junk food and she attached that with the fact that Emily started to belittle and insult her. It wouldn't surprise me if Amber used some degenerate kind of roleplay (Emily insults her to make her eat more, with Amber fully aware of that and consenting out of desperation - I'm a FETISH YOUGUYZ) as a way to manipulate all the situation with "all I did was defend myself as a consequence of Emily's verbal abuse". Because they're both so fucked up, manipulative, and fundamentally moronic, that I can see how this could actually make sense in the context of two mentally deficient idiots.
