Large stones are sometimes less of a problem than small ones. A stone <5mm you'll be able to pass by yourself (with pain, but you'll do it). A larger stone may not even cause any symptoms because it's too big to actually get into the ureter to cause pain, so it just rattles around in the pelvis of the kidney. This can cause blood in the urine though, from all the aforementioned rattling.

You can even get a type called a "staghorn calculus", where the whole pelvis of the kidney fills up with a big stone (these obviously need to be surgically removed).

Even if a stone isn't causing pain, the problem is it can still cause issues like urine/kidney infections because a stone is the type of place that bacteria enjoy getting into little nooks and crannies and flourishing, especially if you're a diabetic and have lots of sugar in your urine...

As others have mentioned, a stone that's causing problems can be blasted with soundwaves (if you're not too fat) or a stent (a piece of soft tubing) can be temporarily inserted to make a nice clear passageway for the stone to exit, or of course surgery but you want to avoid that if you can.

You actually can gain weight on the drugs if you don’t eat properly. You can eat smaller portions sure, but if all your portions are fast food, you’re not going to lose any weight.

For me it wasn’t the fact that she was “outing” her mom as also being a big fat gay lesbo, it was about not respecting her boundaries when it was something she was clearly uncomfortable talking about.
