Let's sat for argument'sake that Amber really did want to learn how to drive, would she be allowed to? At her size she is a real danger to herself and other drivers.

We have all seen Chinny drive in the good ol' Canadian days back when she weighted less than Amber and she couldn't even turn her head and neck to look back. I'm not even sure Amber could fit behind the wheel.

Interesting legal thought; would her obesity stop her from getting a license? Does the DMV have that authority? Since obesity alone isn't covered by the ADA (ADA) she might be able to sue and win if they didn't give her one due to her obesity.

I am sure there are rules in place that stop blind people or amputees from getting a license but then again those cases are probably so rare that maybe rules don't even exist. I can't imagine many people missing either an arm, leg, or their eyesight are trying to learn how to drive.

Honestly, if Amber really wanted to learn how to drive, she probably could a license even at her weight. I don't know of any authority that could point to her weight alone as reason not to give her a license especially if she managed to pass the dang test.

edit : @TardiX beat me too it

I think Momma has said to her she cannot drive her around all the time and is not falling for her tricks of making appointments only for them to cancel. Speaking as an immigrant though, in the southern states you positively need a car. The space is just vast especially in OK.
As you said, I think Kristine had enough of driving her all the time. Her past girlfriends, especially Becky, were living with her and thus chauffered her all the time, but for Kristine, it is becoming a chore, and is putting her foot down. She probably told her that for emergencies she would drive her but for regular shopping sprees, she should arrange her own transportation.

There are loads of participants in MSHPL that drove, so Amber can if she wants. When Amber says that something brings anxiety, it is code for something that she does not want to do. Amber always has been taken care of, it's easy, so why change? She misses Jade for the convenience of being driven. Nothing more.

She just hates people judging her because she is a fat ugly bitch and also incredibly lazy.
This is why she does not want to take Uber and be seen in public. She probably hated going to the laundromat. She probably asked Kristine to do her laundry, but refused, and told her to go to a laundromat and drove her there. No wonder she is panicking about not having a new girlfriend.

When that bus pulled up to the stop, sees her, and then starts beeping as it "kneels" to let her try to waddle on, with the bottoms of her leggings under the soles of her feet flip flopping around... she would absolutely die of embarassment.

You need to pass a vision test. Amputees get special restrictions requiring them to drive adapted vehicles (such as hand controls etc). There are medical exam requirements for commercial drivers (blood pressure etc), but not personal.

If Amber passed the knowledge exam and vision test, and could find a vehicle she could operate enough to pass the road test, she would get a license. This will be the hardest thing for her. Her legs are short so to reach the pedals she'd have to scootch all the way up. but her gut is big so she might not be able to reach the steering wheel or turn it as it digs into her gut. If she could reach, her foot mobility and size of her legs would be a massive problem.

Un-ironically she could get a hand-controlled vehicle to avoid the pedal situation. She would need to forgo the cheaper "mechanical" options and go for the all electric ones, necessitating a newer vehicle. she could even get the single joystick for steering/brake and throttle if she was good enough.

Amber does not want the responsibility of owning a car. As it has been mentioned, loads of people do not own a car. A small PL, I did not learn to drive till my late 20's; I did not need to as public transportation was adequate. Since Amber does not need to drive to work, and most of her groceries and food can be ordered in, she does not need a car for this either. Taking an Uber or a taxi would be fine for most of the rest. The cost of ownership including insurance, maintenance, and parking is much greater than taking the odd Uber.

Repeated for emphasis. Can you even fathom this fucking bulk being able to not only fit, but maneuver in the footwell of the driver's seat?

Her ankle balls would be hitting the brake and gas at the same time.

There’s no way in hell she could maneuver her legs and feet to use the pedals. Her legs are just too damn big.
She also can’t react to anything quickly so her driving would be truly terrible.

Y'all need to watch some more 600 lb life to see that blubberpotomuses the size of AL can indeed fit behind the wheel of a vehicle and operate it. She'd just need to splay her knees and operate the pedals with the sides of her feet to keep her ankle balls from striking both pedals simultaneously, much like a tall person operating a small vehicle with inadequate leg room. Either that, or as mentioned upthread, she could get a vehicle with hand controls.

It's not that she'd be incapable of operating a motor vehicle as there's plenty of hamplanets that do, it's just that she's a lazy sack of lard that can't be assed to do so and would rather rely on the rest of the world to chauffeur her around.

She’s gotta be getting restless. Not as-in physically needing to move, but knowing there is no one available at anytime to cart her around. Even to finger stuff she won’t buy at Walmart. But the cost of owning and the effort of maintaining a vehicle is just not something I can see her managing at all. It’s a pain in the ass for most of us, but it would be an anxiety filled nightmare for ALR. Especially in an Oklahoma winter.

If you’re blind you cannot pass the test for a license, but interestingly it’s extremely difficult to take someone’s license away if they become blind or otherwise unable to drive. Hence the occasional news story about some demented old grandpa driving his truck into a Walmart.

Skinny people can be 600lbs, too!!!! This whole bull shit of her not driving bcuz aNXiEtY. No bitch, it's bcuz you're horribly deformed disgusting body can't fit behind the fucking wheel.

She can't turn her head to look even to her side or check the mirror. Her layyyyyyyyyyyyggggggs are so fat and fluid filled, her range of movement is too bad for the accelerator and brake pedals. Same with the gear shift.
Performing basic bitch maneuvers like backing out, or even parking in a parking stall in a full lot or parking deck are no-gos.
How's she gonna pump gas? This ain't New Jersey where she can stop at the WaWa and get a nice man to pump while washing her windshield using a weepie the we we before getting fired for oofending her.

What if she drove over an empty red Folgers container pitched on the highway and it drags the undercarriage? Becky ain't there to just stick the phone up in her face and screech "What're WE gOnNa dO??"

Tess Holiday drives. She has a jeep with lots of room. Her legs may be more mobile than Amber since her ankles don’t have lymphedema, but not by much. Amber, given the right car, could drive. Chantal also drove until she moved to Kuwait. Chinny’s weight is in more her stomach while Ambers is more her legs, but Chins still managed with the steering wheel push against her gunt. Shes not a good driver but managed.

Out west, we don’t have good public transport like in NY. Even SF is limited compared to NY. Public transport out west means buses, and a commute that would take 45 by car can end up being 2 hours by bus. Not doable. I’ve been to OKC once so have no idea if they do it any better but it’s a small city and I’m guessing it’s mostly just busses too. I wonder what Amber would even do in a full bus or train? She better budget for Uber because Mamalynn doesn’t want to spend every weekend driving her fat daughter around.

How Methmomma didn't see this coming is beyond me. OF COURSE she was gonna end up being the one to cart FatAl around. Who else is there? Amber may have been blowing smoke up Kristine's ass about how she'll take Ubers or whatever or learn to drive but we know that wouldn't happen. And she'd be a menace, no innocent people deserve Amber driving.

I predict much trantruming and lotsa guilt trips being flung around and I hope Kristine shuts that shit down hard. Enjoy yer bouncing baby gorl, Methmomma.

I’m not sure how the US states work, just know where I am that as soon as a driver applies for a disabled parking permit that triggers regular medical examination requirements until cleared. Amber couldn’t manage without a disabled permit, so she’d definitely trigger medical releases (even if only every 5 years) where I am. Doctors are also mandatory reporters for driver safety issues. While obesity may not be one of them, many comorbidities of obesity are.
If you’re blind you cannot pass the test for a license, but interestingly it’s extremely difficult to take some
Good thing then that she isn’t already licensed, because any tester would be obligated to have her medically cleared if they saw physical limitations restricting her movements behind the wheel.

Honestly, if you are in a metro area like Dallas or New York you do not need a car as public transport is pretty good. In OKC there is actually a good public transport system called EMBARK which is inspired by Dallas' robust system. She has no excuse because it is actually good but also has "enough" to pay for an Uber. I think Momma has said to her she cannot drive her around all the time and is not falling for her tricks of making appointments only for them to cancel. If you guys remember, Destiny said after they split and she was with Dana, they will still drive Hambo around to shop, every time Hambo only bought little stuff, instead of a monthly shop, so she had to call for Destiny often.
Luckily for Destiny, Becky appeared just in time.

ETA: Does anybody has the post with her apartment details???
If I remember was $1.9k monthly for a 1 bed???
Is quite expensive for her to be depress and stop working. LOL
Jade cracked the whip and made Hambo work to pay for her car, after she and Becky was almost broke because of her laziness and mah mentalz.

I don't know why Albert needs to drive anywhere. Obviously the laundry thing happened but that's not going to be a regular issue for her and I'm not even sure what the urgency was to go to the laundromat. She has a shit ton of clothes and it's not like she was never a gross pig before, rewearing her clothes for days in a row.

You can get pretty much anything delivered or shipped these days whether it's groceries, random crap from Wal-Mart or Target or any one of a bazillion things you can get from Amazon.

It's opposite here. It's the medical exams and approval from a doctor which obtains a handicapped permit from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

What's so fucking retarded about that to me is, the dumb bitch could have washed them at home, then taken them to the laundromat to dry... in the middle of the night, but no! She washed them there, too. Or God forbid, she could have hung them to dry at home... in the middle of the night.

There have been countless midnight runs to the ER, to the vet, to the emergency pancake restaurant. Is she going to awaken MethMom on a work night to take her? Uber? No way. She's too embarrassed and self conscious.

Same here, but I guess I wasn’t very clear. Once a Dr does the paperwork for a disabled parking permit (for a licensed driver), whether permanent or temporary, the driver has a medical condition attachment to their licence which will trigger the requirement for regular medical clearances.
As an example
I had a temporary permit issued about 7 years ago due to a fracture in a foot. I was relegated to being a passenger at the time, but the permit is issued to the person needing it , not the car it is used in. Once the foot was healed post surgical repair, I just let the permit expire. Years later, I received the medical exam paperwork from the DMV. Both myself and the Dr had no idea why, so when I submitted the clearance paperwork I asked, and was told that’s standard practice after a driver has been issued a disabled permit, regardless of whether it’s permanent or short term like mine was. That will continue happening now every 5 years until I get a doctor to ask for the condition to be removed from my license. He would have done it last time, but we didn’t know the reason they had requested the medical.
