I think that her previous girlfriends were used as her mother to tell her what to do, when to bathe, when to get up, etc. Being by herself shows us that she cannot function without an adult taking care of her. I do not think that being close to her mother is doing Amber any good. It avoid Amber from growing up.

Being around each other is not going to do either of them any good unless they’re actively working through past issues and the only thing Amber works through is troughs of food.

Turd raises an interesting point; past girlfriends and THEIR parents, (Casey’s mom, Krystal’s parents), may have been used as parental substitutes but I’ll suggest as a substitute parent to defy.

All these folks may have tried to act in loci parents but Amber wasn’t listening.

I wonder if her mom is dumb enough to quit her job and try to hop on the ALR money train. That would be idiotic for so many reasons. I wonder if ALR is actively or passively-aggressively trying to remove her mom’s boyfriend from the scene or trying to limit the amount of time mom spends with him.

The problem with not setting strict limits right away makes it much more difficult to do so later.

Mom needs to really be careful. Right now in theory, she holds the upper hand. If she allows herself to come under Amber’s control , she’s screwed.

Amber… no need to grow up if she can coax others to do her adulting for her.

This, as usual, will not end well.

I just pictured being behind her on one of those really steep escalators that go on forever like the ones at the Atlanta airport. The anxiety would get worse and worse with every inch you move. Could an escalator even move her? I know they carry hundreds of people but 500lb on one step is crazy.

Joke’s on Amber and escalators because white Jesus blessed me with severe vertigo and I can’t go on escalators without falling over lol I’m medically exempt from this hypothetical scenario. My doctor gave me a note.

Now, here’s my cursed scenario since I’m doomed to be a forever elevator user… imagine stepping into an elevator with Amber and seeing the little weight limit sign next to the buttons.

Remember, Amber has gone without her Mother for a long time, we know she is stunted mentally stuck at 13 years old so honestly she will drive a wedge between her Mother's bf and Mamalynn. Because if Mom dares says no to her in any way Amber will remind her Mother of how not there she was for her and how her being fat as fuck is all HER FAULT.

Most 32 yo would figure it rather quickly, but you have to realise that Amber has never had to do anything for herself, and she just does not want to change. This is why she finds it so difficult to be alone in the flat. All her relationships were paid for. This is why she wants so desperately to find someone. Her mother is not there 24/7 and being alone scares her. I am pretty sure that her standards in a mate is going down with time.
