That would depend on the equipment available to the surgeon. Dr Now uses a Da Vinci robot to perform surgery on his mega-fats, but these robots aren't available everywhere. More to the point would be could she have anesthesia. She had her hysterectomy under epidural block (like they use for caesarian sections), which was doable that way because the hysterectomy is in the pelvis, and was necessary due to her risk of dying if she was put under a general anaesthetic. The gall bladder is upper abdominal surgery so I don't even know if there's a good alternative to general anesthesia for surgery in that region. My gyn oncologist said he did all cancer related hysterectomies as open surgeries because of the visual field he gets of the organs and the lymph nodes. Plus no Da Vinci robot, although I don't know why the robot is okay when handhold laprascopic equipment isn't. He also claimed that actually palpitating the lymph nodes is a valuable ability to have in surgery...cancer affected lymph nodes often feel different and a machine can't yet replace their experienced fingers ability to feel, and it's faster than waiting for mid-surgery pathology results.

Let's be honest....this is ALR massive Fatso... If she was even just obese they would remove her gallbladder as long as she had the ability to pay. They aren't offering her surgery because she is just too fucking fat, and she probably can't afford it.

Department of Rehabilitation Services and Department of Human Services. In my area, bolth are located under the same roof, and bolth receive billing from partner agencies in the area like the ARC, RAMP, Challenge Unlimited, Bridgeway, etc.

I do case management and work with DRS/DHS and I see very similar dynamics and behavior (including leaving the house behavior) all the time. NEVER once did I ever say she is for sure.

No...her gallbladder is fucked, and has been for 14 years because of her FAT FILLED lifetime of eating. It's nothing to do with keto....which incidentally is "way more fat than protien"....that's what keto is, high fat, moderate protien, very low carb. The standard keto diet macro-nutrient profile is 70% fat, 20% protien, 10% carbs. What that means for someone on say 2000 calories/ day is that 1400 will come from fats, 400 from protien and 200 from carbs. And before you say calories don't matter on keto....they absolutely do!!!

It is totally possible to lose 30lbs in the first month of keto. After that it slows down immensely to about 2lbs a week.
Someone Amber's size could lose 40+ lbs the first month of even dirty keto.

Putting this back to Amber, it's funny as fuck that Amber whined about losing two pounds a week being too fast when that's the high end of healthy weight loss for normal people. Amber hasn't even been smallfat sized since she was in grade school. She could lose a fuck ton of weight the first couple of months even without weight loss and be okay. Fast weight loss can fuck up your gallbladder, but so does super shit diet. This is very similar to her "my calories/points/carbs/whatever are too low for my body!" copouts to get out of diets. Not surprising at all.

I saw this in the Young Adult book section of Target last night. I have officially discovered what Amber’s entire personality has been based off of for at least a year. This book has it all:

I don't mean to shit up the thread or beat a dead horse here, but I'm still not quite understanding this. Maybe it's because I'm comparing to what we have here, which might be a little different than the program you're talking about?

Here we have PSWs (personal support workers) - a certificate program. As a PSW, you can work in rehab facilities, nursing homes, or even in patient's homes. Someone I knew had to care for his elderly mother, and had a PSW in the house while he was at work. The lady would cook her meals and clean the kitchen, assist with toileting and bathing, and was then mostly a companion during the rest of the day (mainly to call for help if something happened). The lady would push his mother's wheelchair around while they went for walks in the neighbourhood, or would gossip and knit with her while watching soaps. The job wouldn't be something that you would travel the eqivalent of from New York to Kentucky to do. And there would be HUGE FALLOUT from the bad optics of a patient talking about being fucked by or in a relationship with their PSW.

Is this the type of program you're referring to? Is there another program where a family member or a partner of the patient receives some training, and then becomes a basic (paid) caregiver to ease the burden on long term rehab facilities and nursing homes?
