The "unbanked". Back in the paper check dayz, do-gooders were always thinking that low income people without bank accounts were STOOPID for using check cashing and pay day places. The users said no, we go there because the fees are posted upfront. Banks hide their fees. Which was true- NSF, mimimum balances, etc.

Nowadays, you have to go out of your way to get cash to stuff your mattress. Which Amber probably thinks she's SMART for doing sending Jade. Count that change, gurl.

While I have bank accounts and such, maybe it's just a prepper thing for me having a few grand of cash stashed away for emergency purposes. If the banking system hiccups badly for whatever reason and who in the hell knows in Clown World today, it's worthwhile.

But it ain't in a pretty little folder tucked under my mattress. And the fact that she would announce it to the world is not "cute and quirky," it's just plain stupid.

On a second note, if I were Hamber's doctor and I saw her on a repeated basis and saw she wasn't following my advice, that wouldn't "vibe" with me and I'd tell her to fuck off and find somebody else to demonize.

A little off-topic, but I wasn't sure where to post this. It's in the comments section of 'The Dangleen Ankle' on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pobo2AoqVJk). He's a little... odd himself. He's recently posted a video about trying to bribe Michael Be Petty to come back and do an interview with him. That's a discussion for another post. Anyway, a poster name Katalina W made a comment to his video, and 'Annie Doran' made a couple of :story: comments. This individual has been popping up in the comment section of a lot of ALR reaction channels with some equally wild comments. Some details she says seem off, like "Becky's one sister". Becky has two; wouldn't a friend of the family just call the "one sister" in question by her name? But then, the grammar and spelling is horrific enough to cause an aneursym, so who knows if this is just part of that. What do you think: batshit friend of Norma, or fabulously dedicated troll? I'm leaning towards troll, but I didn't really follow the Ann Doran stuff during the GoFundMe in 2019 that closely and might have missed something.

I agree with you Slappy. There is no reason to see a doctor and tell him or her bollocks. In case of Amber, she probably told them that she loss 100 pounds in a year, so that they do not want her to restrict her diet. The lipoedema doctor might have suggested a high protein diet, a la Dr. Now, with reduced calories. She did not tell her to eat huge amount of pork rinds. Amber only wants to hear that her weight gain is not her fault, and that she is special. I think that she does not have the capacity to understand the fine details of what she is told. This is why she claims that they misdiagnosed her so many times; she just does not understand what she is told.

I feel like part of it is also that she looks up the most convenient/worst possible medical info she can for a given situation, and then tells her doctors that she has all the symptoms so she can get a "diagnosis". Then when she talks to the camera, she just spins anything the doctor says into the most favorable outcome for her.
 
It's not even shocking that she quit keto. She hated every minute of it, so she found an excuse, even though it makes absolutely no sense. At 500 pounds, 2 pounds a week isn't rapid anything but okay. So here we are, still at 500 pounds. I guess it's nice to have something that never ever changes in life. I'm assuming Wipey is going back to New York for Thanksgiving like she did last year, when Hamber told us 500 times she was alone and cryeeeen? So, will we get a drunk live or an ER visit? Maybe both to keep things interesting.

This is something I will never understand. She doesn't have insurance, which means she's paying out of pocket for them. Why the fuck would you do that and then lie? Gallbladder removal surgery, cholecystectomy, is usually performed laprascopically these days. It hasn't been an open incisional surgery (laparotomy) for decades. She's not getting it though at the weight she is unless it's a life threatening emergency, or she magically gets herself approved for bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgeons will remove a diseased gallbladder during WLS, but most no longer remove healthy gallbladders despite popular belief to the contrary, instead they'll opt to prescribe ursodial for up to 6 months post operatively to cover the very rapid weightloss period. WLS is also performed laprascopically unless complications arise mid surgery that require the abdomen to be opened up.

I hope people don't see this exclusively as a 'prepper' thing. Small off-topic story:

The insignificant country to the north of Burgerland - you know, the one where they live in igloos, use dogsleds, and have a part-time drama teacher as a prime minister? Anyway, they suffered a telecommunications outage from one of their MAJOR companies (Rogers) earlier this year. Nationwide, millions lost 911 coverage and internet access - including banks. And I don't mean individual branches, I mean entire NATIONAL BANKS went completely dark for a day or so. Visa and Mastercard payment processing also went down. So if you were a Canuckian who banked with one of those institutions and you walked around cashless with your sleek minimalist wallet, you were FUCKED. ATMs didn't work, because they couldn't communicate with your bank to release funds. Visa and Mastercard were down. Even if you used a bank that didn't rely on Rogers, many stores did and could only do cash transactions. Mainstream Media never followed up on the story about what happened, nor did Rogers admit to what the problem was (some speculated it was either a hack or a sort of cyber terrorist attack), and they managed to get banks up in about a day, and other service within a couple of days. It wasn't disasterous, but still a wake up call for the importance of cash.

Moral of the story: anyone who is able to scrape ANY spare money together should try to work on keeping enough cash tucked away at home somewhere to AT LEAST cover a tank of gas and a few days worth of groceries.

Actually, I went to the mall that day, and they were taking VISA/Mastercard. From what I understand, they could hold the charges in the queue and send them out the next day, although who knows if that's correct. Of course, the mall could probably only do that because they were the mall, smaller retailers were thoroughly screwed. Also, we're trailing a digital currency soon, aren't we? sigh...
