This is my take too. If she had actually fallen, such as slipping on something, she might be bruised but likely not have torn ligaments in her ankle. Most tears happen when you roll or twist your ankle. This is actually worst than just a break. Ligament tears notoriously take a long time to hear and may require surgery, which she can't have due to her weight and lymphedema. I guess it is Becky's fault for not forcing her to lose weight so she would not have fallen.
They have the equipment, but this is only part of the issue. She could not likely use the boot because her leg is so big from the lymphoedema that it would not provide support. The boot works by pressing to the bones and muscles to provide stability; all she had is edematous tissues under the skin. She cannot use a knee scooter because she likely cannot bend her knee enough to be able to use one. She may not be able to use crutches because she is so wide and short that the angle between the armpit and floor would be too wide and not be stable enough. The only thing she can use is a mobility frame or a wheeled walker. I think that she had one after her surgery.
Jade was probably walking Twinkie and Amber cannot walk that far. So they split.
It is going to be weeks if not months of being housebound. She is likely to need physiotherapy. I guess we can say goodbye to lymphoedema treatment and do all the packing and move to another state in a few weeks. It is going to be fun when Jade goes back to NYC for holidays or other reasons. I am sure that Jade is reconsidering her position.
Yea. Idk about anyone else but when I fall I don't say, get up and grab my phone immediately. I'm not sure how universal it is but I'll lay there for a few seconds at least because the brain needs to catch up on what happens. And her brain ain't that fast.
Exactly, she stumbled forward her ankle gave out but no fall took place.
That is also possible. I may have been too hasty to think amber just rolled forward like a giant ball of fat and that prevented her from getting as badly scraped up but it is fun to think about.
Even if it healed perfectly, this is a permanent injury to Amber. She will talk about it as if it was an injury suffered during the winning play of the championship game. If it looks like its going to rain, she'll say her ol' fall injury is actin up. cold? oh my ankle from my fall! This is now a permanent feature.
They have kneeling scooters for large people or those too weak to use cruches. you rest the knee of the injured foot/ankle on it and scoot yourself around.
I'm not on either side of the fence yet, but Amber lies. If she faked this it would not be for views as much as it would be for manipulating Wifey, My Girlfriend. Now Jade cant go back to new york. or leave the apartment for longer than it takes to run to McDonalds. She cant baby trap Jade Francis of New York, so she's going to trap her with guilt. Amber has a live in girl friend, its time to set the hooks in her and stay bed bound and keep her girl with her at all times.
Would she though? She more or less rolled over and didnt not fall. And her tiny flabby t-rex arms wouldnt have reached the ground if she stuck them out to try to catch herself. If she fell like a normal person and put an arm out to catch herself she'd have broken her wrist. No, if she TRULY fell, she went down like a moron and didnt react. Truthfully it was probably a surreal experience for her. She likely has not moved that quickly through the air before and whens the last time she's dont anything to feel the sensation of falling, such as jumping, or even squating?
This applies to the current ankle situation type deal: one of my kids sprained an ankle last year, and the ER referred my kid to an orthopedist. My kid was on crutches until that appointment, then got a boot. Of course, we have primary physicians and health insurance, but yeah. Follow up was on us.

Amazon has one for 500 pound fatasses, but I can't imagine the hospital had one on hand. Look at the knee seat, though. It's much too narrow to securely encapsulate her blubber knee and it would spill over the edges.

Not like it’d matter. I’d say she gets scraped and bruised a lot, and quite easily considering how poorly her body heals. Wonder how hard it’d be to distinguish new ones from old ones.
not sure about this but not knowledgeable enough to argue. It’s pretty incredible how she describes a lot of her doctors like they’re some omniscient miracle workers or something.
