This. I go to a wound center and they do a heavy compression wrap with three different bandages from behind my toes to just below the knee. And yeah, I've seen some scootypoofin' deathfats/diabetics there for the same treatment.
The compression reduces the swelling and helps with the venous insufficiency. (Bad varicose veins inherited from dad that pool blood and it goes stale) Next steps are my doc doing some venous ablation where they seal the bad veins shut. Regular compression socks are recommended after that.
Sux getting old, but it beats the alternative. In Hamber's case, she needs to lose some (lots of) weight before compression will really help because it will only get worse as she ages.
She can't go 100 days without an ER trip so she will blame this and then say she's proud of herself for moving more and that's a goal in itself.
