They're inexpensive and thus brought to the top of Amazon's algorithm, but most of them contain extremely high levels of lead and phthalates. The whole movement started with Maxey talking about how there isn’t much nail inspo out there featuring chubby fingers. Honestly, there’s not much of anything with big fingers!​

Last fall Austin and I went ring shopping so I could get an idea for what would look good on my fingers. I had tons of inspo saved on Instagram and Pinterest, but all the photos showed the rings on dainty little fingers that didn’t look like mine.​

We went to a few stores and no one ever made me feel comfortable. We finally found a store that promoted a 3D holographic way to try on rings. BINGO, this was my chance to see what rings for big fingers would like on my hand. Unfortunately when we went, it wasn’t working. Womp. But the sales associate was so sweet, we decided to start the process with them.​

Engagement Ring Shopping​

So apparently being a size 10 ring finger means trying on rings is actually impossible. I had to put on a mens wedding band and hold stones with tweezers over it. Seriously, I can’t make this up. It was one of the more uncomfortable situations i have been in. I can still hear the sales associate “imagine this, but thinner” and “imagine this, but we would need to make a bigger stone to fit your finger and not look too small”.​

When I got the ring, I was stoked. I was marrying my best friend, the man of my dreams… and I had the most beautiful ring I would get to wear for the rest of my life. Unfortunately for me, I hated the way my finger looked with the ring on. The rolls around my finger took away the beauty of the ring (or so I thought). Before taking photos of the ring, I would adjust it awkwardly… sometimes even holding it between my fingers or placing it on my thumb. Anything to not show how awful my fingers looked with a ring on:​

I have often thought about this and I honestly think she will stick to this for however long it lasts, until it absolutely completely dries up.

Even if this means her earning just a few hundred dollars, having to live in a more modest abode and relying on government assistance, she will continue.

We'll see it spun from "woe is me, the worst thing ever happened" to "it's humbling and I'm a better person for it".

Amber started with nothing and her rise was never destined to happen. She has been extremely lucky. One thing she has always done that true lay-a-bouts and grifters do is adapt to whatever situation they are in. Compare the highs of 10/15k a month Amber to now, still consooms but just cheaper.

I know we will never see it, but I wish I could read that email.
