Makes sense. Though I imagine this size difference is new then? Chances that it's just related to gaining weight?

She’s having a mammogram because she’s gone through menopause and is (supposed to be) taking supplemental estrogen both of which greatly increase breast cancer risk.

Except she doesn’t take supplemental estrogen, and has had a Total Hysterectomy and BSO (both ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed) so produces far less estrogen. Breast cancer is an estrogenic cancer, so she’s actually at lower risk of getting breast cancer. Her risk factor comes from her previous estrogenic cancer, not supplemental estrogen or menopause (which doesn’t increase breast cancer risk…aging does, and menopause tends to correlate with aging).

She’s 500lbs+ so her oestrogen levels are off the chart and she’s had a hysterectomy. Obesity plays a greater role in breast cancer risks after menopause, its the number one correlating factor.

Doctors are not giving a 500lb beast under 40 with none or poor health insurance a mammogram for fun. That’s not a thing.
 
Would she really need the genetic testing? I know her moms had cancer too, but I always assumed she got the uterus cancer so young because of her lifelong obesity and lack of action to the first sign of abnormal bleeding. Apparently endo cancer feeds off of high level of estrogen which is caused by excess fat.

She said it didn't hurt at all. Is that just because there is so much fat? I have had a mammogram and it freaking hurt. I have a fairly big set of natural boobs so I thought it probably hurt for everyone.
 
I'm surprised she actually got a mammogram at all, and didn't even milk it for content for weeks. "Boohoo I might have cancer because the doctor wants me to get a mammogram." Just the thought of her getting one makes me 😂, imagining them leading her by the tits to get the correct angles. Plus, the funk that escaped when they had to pry it away from her belly fat. Yeah, that woman didn't say she was pretty.

@Autistic Asparagus she should be asking santalynn for some bottom teeth.

No one’s saying that. The only reason a mammogram came up (4 years after her hysterectomy) was because Amber made a big deal over her left breast being bigger, which is usually normal in women (although with her fat distribution, I imagine it is wonky). She said the doctor was shocked that she had uterine cancer so young, so this wasn’t her oncologist or someone she normally sees who suggested a screening.

But, yes, with her history, of course they went ahead and did it. No one’s arguing that they gave her one for the hell of it.
 
There's a logistical reason the test is done for older women; in order for the test to be done accurately a woman needs to lose a significant amount of mass in the breast to be able to read the mammogram effectively.

Usually if they suspect that you need to have your breast examined when you're younger they will suggest an ultrasound rather than a mammogram.

So...what makes Amberlynns situation so special that she would have a mammogram that potentially will not show shit because she has too much breast tissue?

The resurgence of bralessness I’ve seen in the past year is concerning, because it’s never the Farrah Fawcett pert breasts passing by, but a couple of low-hanging udders thudding into one another. I look away tactfully, silently wishing that these women would just wear some goddamned underwear. But I realize the display is not meant for me.

But in Amber’s case, it’s mind-boggling. Does she actually think her kettle drums look attractive?
 
It will never not amaze how despite being over 500 el bees, not a single ounce made it's way to her tits or arse. No Amber, your shelf doesn't count.
