In one of her livestreams (I think right before Christmas?), Becky showed up on camera still wearing her nametag from her first shift at the new job (a job that I'm sure she's already quit by now). People pointed out that she wrote "Beck" instead of Becky, and Becky just said that she liked the name better and it felt more like her or something. I remember wondering at the time if she chose this new name because it only took 80% of the effort that it took to write her old nickname.

I think that most bariatric surgeons know that their patients are not truthful with them.

They sure can pick the liars. Not all patients lie though. Many will try as hard as they can to comply with diet and exercise, and will be honest about any struggles they have. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of WLS patients are successful, albeit to varying degrees. A huge factor in that is ongoing follow up (for years) with a bariatric practice post surgery. Also, most bariatric surgery patients are obese (BMI >40), but not deathfats. Deathfats have a much lower chance of success.

She was told of the cost of the different options early on and the possible financing.

She was anticipating having gastric bypass though. Dr Smith knew she would need the SADI-S (the surgery Tammy had) which is much more expensive.

I was always of the opinion that she choose Dr Smith because she was hoping TLC would pick up the tab.

What she is not telling us is that she was kicked out of the programme for being non compliant. If you go to a famous surgeon with loads of potential patients, this surgeon is going to be choosy.

Any competent bariatric surgeon will be “choosy”. They all have waitlists as long as their arms. I do believe she voluntarily left the program, because she was a paying customer the bariatric team would have continued to see her, even if there was every reason to deny her surgery. She’s also now spoken about her TLC interview for 1000lb best friends, which would have seen her and Jade having to relocate to Atlanta. Jade was still on the scene at that time, so it would have happened while Amber was still seeing Dr Smith. If this is true, I believe she thought she’d get on the show (because her interview was another triumph) and have free surgery, so no point in continuing paying at Dr Smith’s practice.

Well that’s a lie. She gave out enough clues to hone in on the big three male surgeons, settling on Dr Smith very quickly, despite her attempts to throw people off her trail by saying her surgeon was an out of state female. For starters there are no “famous” female bariatric surgeons that she would know of, that operate on 500+ pounders. Once she mentioned the requirement to start at the website and get the login for the online information, the practice was immediately located, because only Dr Smith’s practice is accessed that way.

No offense but it was kinda obvious it was Dr Smith, she said they were "a well-known Bariatric surgeon in Kentucky." Like FFS Bariatric surgeons are not everywhere even in burger land and famous ones are unicorns. A lot of celebrities and wealthy people do not want it known they have had it so keep it on the downlow.

Amber for a surgeon is a nightmare because she is a higher risk compared to an obese person because of the success chance. Amber has been a deathfat since being a baby, she has never even been morbidly obese but super morbidly obese which is crazy when you think about it. Even in the fatty world its not as common as you would think because a lot of the patients have a trigger event mostly.

What we will get now is she'll lose weight to 480 and go back up to 520, rinse and repeat.

I watched Mr Snowflake's second episode of Victims of the Empath, and this part really stuck out to me. I didn't go very deep into the Krystle era, so it was very shocking to me how nonchalant Amber was with showing her audience what kind of tests Krystle was doing and the medical imaging. Talk about disrespecting her privacy. Listening to the snippets of Krystle saying no, she doesn't want to be on camera, and that clip of her getting her hair manhandled by Amber's fat hands was really frustrating. But what really made me MATI was Amber making fun of Krystle's weeb hobbies. Really made her so punchable to me.
