Just checked - Anyone who owns a gun can carry a gun in public (concealed) - no permit required - So any batshit crazy can carry a gun - if you piss the wrong person off you can just be shot dead where you stand,,,,,,
EDIT - So I go and have a quick check to see when the last time someone was shot in Lexington expecting it to be at least a couple of months ago --- and no - 3 people shot outside Bath and Bodyworks just 8 mins drive from The Henry

Kentucky is dangerous, and not just in the hollers where uncle-cousin Bubba might decide he doesn't like your looks.
Lexington in particular has a LOT of bad stuff going on. Drugs, big shipments not just a tiny bag of weed here and there. Illegal sex stuff too. Don't ask me how I know this stuff because frankly it's been years since I worked down there and I'm bad with names and faces at the best of times, but one hears and sees things.
Parts of the city are very nice, and most of the people are as innocent as anything. But the ones that aren't? They're around, and they know how handy it is to be in a state the the rest of the country doesn't take seriously where there are highways and airports and art galleries and big beautiful farms and wealthy people.

I would think Amber and Becky would be easy targets to rob. Obviously they can't put up a fight, they can barely walk and certainly aren't going to run away. It also doesn't take long to realize they're about as smart as a box of rocks. If Amber is flashing cash when she goes out, the wrong people are going to notice it.
