And it’s a shame. The comics were already left leaning enough without (at least the first omnibus worth) going off the edge for most folks. It worked.Seth Rogen makes anything awful.
The only time I think I've ever liked him was in The Green Hornet.Seth Rogen makes anything awful.
Just in time for me to get the last two omnibus volumes before scalpers boost the price so it can sell out immediately. I still love the hype for this.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind him being the main villain of the series either. He has some seriously based Space Hitler energy, and I would pay money to see him kill the pink feminist icon. He's already as popular as Homelander and the Joker - if the writers are smart, they'll realize he's carrying the show and make him the Thanos of that Universe.Hot take: tv show Omni-man is way too evil to deserve a redemption arc.
tell that to robert kirkman he's the guy who gave him one in the comicsHot take: tv show Omni-man is way too evil to deserve a redemption arc.
On the other hand. If they made him a full villain, they'd likely ruin all the fun things about his character.Hot take: tv show Omni-man is way too evil to deserve a redemption arc.
Likewise, "like X only evil" is the fucking bane of comic book stories and only few stories like "Red Son" do it well.
The real nazi's were the progressives we met along the way.I like how omniman's planet developed their superpowers through extensive, extreme, rigorous and unvoluntary application of eugenics but they still have a 50-50 white-bixnod split. Guess eugenics aren't racist after all, thanks amazon!
Whenever anyone mentions eugenics I fall back unto this scene in One Punch ManI like how omniman's planet developed their superpowers through extensive, extreme, rigorous and unvoluntary application of eugenics but they still have a 50-50 white-bixnod split. Uh… in what universe is it not an obvious forgone conclusion that Omniman will return? Even if you didn’t read ahead in the story it’s pretty damn obvious that his story isn’t over yet.The big issue is that the entire first season was based on Invincible and Omniman's relationship and the encroaching dread of the truth coming out. No one gives a shit about any other character, none of them are interesting or impressive, they are just filler JL knockoffs. If the show won't bring back Omniman or heavily imply he will come back in the final episode the ratings will drop hard.
From what I understood in the comic he disappears for a long while and even finds the time to get married to an even more literal bugwoman. If you stick to the source you can't make ominous scenes of him slowly getting back to earth to build up tension. And like I said, the entire cast kinda sucks.Uh… in what universe is it not an obvious forgone conclusion that Omniman will return? It doesn’t help that they rushed character progression. From what I understood in the comic he disappears for a long while and even finds the time to get married to an even more literal bugwoman. Really? Omni-man isn't particularly evil. He's a soldier doing what soldiers do. His attack on Earth was barely even a blip on what actual armies do on a strategic level (which is what he essentially is, an army), and his attack on the Flaxans; was the exact same strategy of total war that they tried visiting on Earth. He doesn't seem to hold any actual hatred for the planet, nor does he seem to really want to conquer us that much. If he did, then he could have crossed the planet to where the GDI (whatever they're called) HQ was and flattened it in under a few seconds; not the leisurely cruising speed he actually took. He gave a half hearted, half arsed attempt at conquest, then gave up when the slightest bit of actual pushback by people he cared about was applied.Hot take: tv show Omni-man is way too evil to deserve a redemption arc.
They are going to make everyone worse in all the current year way and constantly bitch at the protagonist despite him doing everything. The majority of the characters have started where they were towards the end of the first omnibus. I wonder how, or even if, they’re going to advance them now?
