You dont gotta eat shit to know its shit, you know

So, are people still talking about this show? Last reply here almost 2 weeks ago, and from my experience the normalcattle has already moved on. It was flavor of the month slop, just like I predicted.
Question now is: Was this worse than the Halo TV show, looking back?

It is worse on the very basis that it is meant to be canon while the Halo TV show wasnt which was then quietly cancelled to the overjoy of every Halo fan worth their salt.

The lore is legit fucked in the ear now as bethesda dick suckers are running around to do damage control and gaslight everyone that these changes will make sense and are for the best.

The normiefication of Fallout is now complete

You say that like it's a bad thing. This means that the rift between Bethesda and Old fans have now gotten so big that there is never any unification between the two. There is the fake, non-canon Fallout from Amazon and Bethesda and then there is the TRUE Fallout from Obsidian, Black Isle and the fans. Fanprojects will keep the latter alive for years, where as Bethesda fans only have the next TV show season or the next Fallout 76 update to look forward to.
Canon sperging is unironically some of the funniest shit in the fandom for me, both because I love being a lorefag and putting newfags in their place and because the Bethesda babies that never played the older games have no defense against it. Bullying them has never been easier, I am so glad this caught on.
Post this image anywhere where you suspect Amazon or Bethesda shills are and watch them fly into a blind rage(source: /fog/ on 4chan, where the lore wars probably started)

Creetosis did a great job making a long PatricianTV style video essay that's 7 hours, 15 minutes long, kicking the utter shit out of this Bezos funded blasphemy. There's so much about this shit show to enthusiastically criticize. The positive reception it got is a testament to the effectiveness of Bezos Bucks shilling and the insipid mediocre standards of the modern TV audience.

Watched the hole thing (in the background of course). It amaze me how little care Bethesda and Amazon had for the show. Season 2 is gonna be such a shit show. i like how he brought up how fucked Ghouls were in the show when fallout 3 did them perfectly. There was an entire quest mocking how people treat them like zombies and the show dose just that.

That guy's "Uh, Ackshully" voice is the most off-putting thing I have heard in ages. Seven hours of his fat autist speech? No fucking way.

How did this piece of shit get a second season?
This show had a $153 million first season budget with another $25 million in California tax credits. The Amazon show Reacher has $14 million per episode supposedly for its budgets. The Lord of the Rings show had a $715 million budget for its first season which also included the rights deal. Amazon just purchased James Bond for $1 billion and will now be making high budgets shows and spinoff series.

Something like White Lotus on HBO was $4 million an episode for is first season and probably $8 million for the third season and they own the franchise. The latest Game of Thrones spinoff is probably $8 million per episode and HBO owns the rights for all of the adaptations. Those shows will probably have ten times the viewers of even the most popular Amazon show.
Are there really people clamoring for more Bethesda bastardization for a series that pretty much died in the 2010s?
No. No one wanted Fallout 76 either. But both Bethesda and Amazon have no respect for the franchise so expect more of this garbage. And Amazon seems to have unlimited funds to produce this endless shit. The financials make zero sense. Prime and Apple lose billions on streaming content and there are no journalists or government officials caring.

I'm cautiously optimistic because I've always wanted a follow up to New Vegas that shows what the Strip looks like after time passes. I'm also very curious about which ending is considered canon for this.

If the last season's handling of previous games' canon is anything to go by, I'd say it's the "the writers didn't even play the fucking game" ending.
It will probably be all surface-level memberberries (and judging by that trailer, they are doubling down hard on the memberberries) and a whole lot of nonsense.

House victory is the obvious answer, since he dies in every other route. Making him this prominent in the marketing and then going "fooled you, the Courier capped him years ago" would be an immense waste of the audience's time. OFC they can always try to have it both ways, saying that someone else won BUUUT he had a backup engram or whatever so hes still a player despite the Courier's choices. Its not clear how much of this is going to take place in a Tranquility Lane-esque mindscape but at least some.

my theory is they dont bring it up at all or it exists in passing with no mention of who controls vegas in the end due to the endings you can get with it. they just go for basic shit happened excuse and then a return to stat quo, removing any relevant characters from the story important for said endings to keep people from asking too many questions. ncr got fucked over by nuking shady sands and they have an ending where they win the battle at the dam (though the ncr still likely exists but not as we saw them in new vegas). legion still exists in some form, regardless if you picked their side or not. outside flashbacks, house will be absent from the story. this is the only way they could get this to work.
otherwise, bethesda has to pick an ending to make canon, and would likely pick the most popular option. this would piss off many people that didnt get that specific ending and is an unlikely option bethesda does specifically because of this
