Police raided a man's home after his Amazon Alexa-enabled device blasted loud music and 'threw a party on its own' at 2am.

Angry neighbours called police after they were woken up by the noise coming from Oliver Haberstroh's flat.

But the flat was empty as the 29-year-old, Oliver, was out with friends.

( The man in question ^^^ )

When police arrived at the flat in Pinneberg, Germany, shortly before 2am on Saturday, they banged on the door but got no response as music blared from inside.

Officers brought in a locksmith and were surprised when they opened the door and found no-one there.

The music was switched off and Oliver was just as surprised when he found out why police were called.

He wrote to Amazon on Facebook, along with a newspaper clipping of the event, saying he had been out at a bar with friends when the music came on.

Officers left after the lock was replaced, and Oliver had to go to his local police station by taxi to pick up the new keys.

An Amazon spokesperson said on Thursday: “Working directly with the customer, we have identified the reason for the incident.

"Echo was remotely activated and the volume increased through the customer’s third party mobile music-streaming app."

"Although the Alexa cloud service worked flawlessly, Amazon has offered the customer to cover the cost for the incident.”

Don't worry, guys, the internet of things is a net gain for everybody, monopolies of information are fully sick and you should pay to be spied on. You don't want to miss out, do you?

The police got a locksmith? Without a warrant, can the police even break into your home for a noise complaint? I know if you open the door they can claim plain sight for probable cause of some other crime, but more worrying than the fact the state can spy on you/false flag minor citations through smarthomes (since you can just not get one) is that German authorities can just waltz into your home. In the US, wouldn't you just get a citation in the mail?

What kind of music do you reckon it was playing, vaporwave? Eurobeat?

Nightcore.

I assume that once there was no answer, the cops entered under the pretense that he could have been dead or unconscious and in need of medical attention. Exigent circumstances. I've seen that on Law and Order before.

It could've been a Nazi Uberhome for all they knew.

I too have seen this on detective shows, it checks out.

Look at the guy.

We can be absolutely sure that he listens to the scientifically worst possible music.

I'm thinking shit like Detroit techno or ironically listening to 70's commercial hony tonk country music. That's the tantalising thing about this whole debacle, what music does this twat listen to? We should probably search for his Soundcloud account.
