They did the best they could given they weren't told whether or not they'd get another season until the very last minute. Even then, I have to give them that this wasn't your regular sort of cliff-hanger. It really felt like a monumental change in the state of things. Less cliffhanger and more "new world opens up".I loved the series, except for the fact it ended on a cliffhanger![]()
At least, for me. In a few ways it was even better because some of the things that would be standard in a TV show were avoided. Derek is still dead and always will be dead. They'd planned his death to be a temporary thing, bringing him back through time travel shenanigans. Which would have undermined the shock of when he's killed and the re-emphasizing of just how merciless the terminators are. But now, that moment always remains. Cameron always sacrifices herself to save John Henry. The last farewell to his mother really is a last farewell.
I don't know - I kind of liked it in a weird way. Though still - fuck the people who cancelled it.
