MLK was a rapist, plagiarist, and communist who cheated on his wife all the time. The FBI and CIA had tons of dirt on him, including actual recordings, but they actively worked to suppress it all, because they wanted to promote him as the manageable alternative to Malcolm X-style separatism/black nationalism. They didn't create him, but they treated him like a hothouse plant and saw to it that he could grow his influence. It's pretty funny how he became the Boomers' primary Saint.

I'm Brit born and bred.

I can tell the difference between Noo Yawk, Boisten, Totally Tubulaar, YeeHaw fuck mah sistah y'all, etc etc. To an extent. Not to the same extent as I could place a Brit accent to a specific town or city - even a specific area of a city in some cases. My home town, London, I could tell you within a dozen streets where an accent originates. US... probably a general city for the 'major' ones. I think it comes down to how much exposure you've had to differing nuances of language to be able to differentiate

FWIW I consider the Deep South 'hick' accent to be the single sexiest sound a human (female!) is capable of making. Don't judge me, we all have our kinks and quirks!
