Advice on how to write a visual novel?

So recently I've been getting a idea in my head about all my old writings from high school, and after thinking it over, I kinda want to make a project out of it. A visual novel seems fun and looking through various engines, even for me, the coding seems fucking easy. Just things like Terms and Conditions make me wary. If i got something like Visual Novel Maker off Steam, could they pull me if they don't like the content, or is it my game?
 
Make sure before you end the opening act to have your protagonist mention something about "how these days seems like they'll never end".

Also at some point later on, have your protagonist repeat the idea of their daily life being shaken up. Maybe multiple times depending on how long/how many entries your VN runs for.

Get Ren'Py - it's free, open source and so easy to use that I learned it just to make a point to a lolcow by making a short visual novel in just a few hours.
I've seen some Ren'py stuff on their front page, not the most impressive looking, but it might be a good way to dip my toes into the coding world since it's in Python

Listen I got dreams, chopping off my dick (Or lying and giving up my dignity and getting shunned by my family) aint part of the deal lol. I'd rather weld at that point
 
Well how about a visual novel centered around welding? Make the protagonist a BIPOC genderblob. It will sell like hotcakes and break new ground!
That's all we need in this world, a semi animated, possibly voiced over story about a black gay disabled welder who sticks the ground clamp up his ass and zaps his nips with 140 amps.
 
I don't think it has been mentioned before. But something that I found useful when writing anything is to read it outloud. Because some lines or concepts that sound good in your head come off as awkward when said out loud. Also, after writing a lot, take a break for one day or two. Then read what you wrote in detail, I found myself disagreeing with what I wrote, fixing previous ideas and mistakes and coming up with new concepts that way.

Now for the visual part of the novel. Just learn how to draw some big bazonkadonkas, that usually attracts the sort of people that read visual novels. Or just hire someone that knows how to.
