As an update, I did try Investigations demo with my intel pentium 4gb ram laptop (yes, I am poor) and it works just fine.
In all likelihood, the minimum requirements are probably just jacked up so if the game doesn't run well on a low-end machine they can point to it and tell you to fuck off.

They better fucking not have a troon voicing her. I do not want troons to be the go to for older women. Fuck off. Cindy Robinson, Veronica Taylor, Megan Hollingshead, and Lani Minella didn't get so far in their careers only to be replaced by that fucking Philosophy Tube faggot.

Okay, yeah, running Apollo Justice on my laptop is impossible. I'm getting an unsupported graphics card error.
Thanks a lot for nothing, Capcom.

I'll just play the android version when I want to play it.

Investigations duology is finally out, not sure about paying $40 though...
From my initial look at the demo, it looked like AA lite so I think it'll be fun
What the fuck, I already preordered it, how did I not get some kind of notification I could install it?
Also if anything, it's not so much AA lite as much as it is AA outside a courtroom and with free-roaming investigations, a little like the old Sherlock Holmes games.

Fair point, I guess. I found it kinda similar to Danganronpa too.

Happy playing either way. I need it to go on a sale before I'll play.

HB gods please make capcom AA bundle happen!

So the datamined names were accurate. Man, these names are not it. I didn't like the fantranslation names much either, but what the fuck is 'Samson Tangaroa'? He's from Tonga now? What even is the gag with his name?

Will take some time getting used to.
Now we just need the Layton crossover and they'll all be available on Switch.
Sadly, that's incredibly unlikely. It was mostly made by Level 5, and they have not ported any of their 3DS shit to other platforms. They barely do ports of their games in general.

Blaise Debeste is now Excelsius Debeste.
I apologize, I was absentminded when I wrote that, should have been "Excelsius Winner"

The wikia offers this explanation:
  • Both of his English names are derived from religious figures: Samson was a biblical judge who lost his great strength and was imprisoned, with parallels able to be drawn to the character growing old and feeble during his time in prison. Tangaroa is a Māori god of the sea and other bodies of water, similar to his Japanese surname. [his dessert theme in the competition is ocean-related]
  • Additionally, his surname is a play on Tango, a partner dance. This is a reference to Bake 'n' Bop, where Samson and Judy Bound would bake while singing and dancing.

It does seem like they got lazy with the names, although I do like John Marsh's new name of Shaun Fenn, which I'm guessing is a reference to the actor Sean Penn.

I just want to know how much is censored/changed. The Apollo trilogy and the HD ports of the AA trilogy suffered greatly because of script re-writes and the sort.
I haven't actually played through it yet (and I don't know Japanese so I can't really speak to 2's situation anyway) so I can't compare personally, but the game does display this when you launch it, so I hope they're not lying:

Caved in and bought the game with a slight discount from Fanatical. I will never financially recover from this....

On topic, I'm on the third case and I've been enjoying the game a lot so far. If I had to say something though, the story/deduction seems a bit simplistic so far.

Got the game, and am currently at the beginning of Case 3 of the second installment. So far, here are my observations:
  • Unlike all the previous games with the exception of TGAAC iirc, you can start from whatever case you want which is a huge fucking plus.
  • The game runs at 60fps, and looks great. I'm playing it on a Switch Lite, and haven't noticed any performance issues at all.
  • The new script is great as well. It sticks to the spirit of the fan version while also differentiating itself enough that it doesn't feel like it's just plagiarizing it. It's also a lot less clunky in some areas when compared to the fan version, too.
  • The new voice lines aren't godawful, but they're nowhere near as good as the fan ones. They just don't have the same personality the old ones do, and in some cases, are really ill-fitting.
  • Knightly's sounds too flat. Sebastian's no longer sounds like he's struggling to pronounce the word, and just kinda sounds generic. I think they were trying to make Courtney sound like a calm, and reserved judge, but that doesn't really fit her actual character because in the game she's haughty, commanding, and holier-than-thou. Also, she just sounds a little too old.
  • Raymond's, and Gregory's are by far the worst because the former is too nasally, and is just nowhere near as cool, and confident as his fan one, and the latter sounds way, way too young. Like, he sounds younger than Edgeworth himself, and almost like Apollo. It's really weird, and distracting.
  • The only one real change I've noticed is Raymond's flirtatiousness, and obsession with hugs is just a bit toned down. He still asks for them, and stuff, but he no longer comes across like a creep like he sometimes did in the fan version.
  • There are a few typos, but so far, it's nowhere near as bad as DD's original release which had them out the wazoo.
  • The new names are either hit, or miss. Some of them are really good like John's, and Simon's, and some of them are really, really bad like Dogan's, and his dog's which are now Bodhiharma Kanis, and fucking Helmut.
Overall, it's pretty good. Only problems so far are that some of the new names are bad, there's a handful of spelling mistakes, and the voice acting is a major step down from the fan version.

I'm also enjoying AAI2 (basically the same sentiments as above) but I bring the unfortunate news that Sebastian/Eustace is now voiced by a tranny drag queen. For a moment there I thought the game might've avoided getting pozzed but alas. It's amusing that a True and Honest Woman would want to voice a man...

The wikia offers this explanation:
Wikia "explanations" tend to be autistic drivel, case in point. They always copypaste entire etymologies for names first and then do the actual pun second.

The tango explanation sounds possible atleast. But it's kinda shit if it is. It's too obfuscated to work as a pun.
Eustace is now voiced by a tranny drag queen
"Man is voiced by a man." Checks out.
On that note, I lost the game of "guess the tranny". Thought Verity sounded sus, turns out it was Eustace. In my defense, the guy does sound like a guy!

is it just me or is Capcom the company that seems to be the MOST obsessed with drag queens and trannies in their games these days?
