It was. I know this sounds odd, but for a fictional character, I always thought Jake Marshall was the hottest character in the game. (And Meekins is so damn adorable.)

So which games has everyone played? The only ones I haven't are Apollo Justice and the second investigation games.

The original trilogy (more times than I care to count), AJ, Investigations, and DD. I'm still in the process of playing Investigations 2, and I have little interest in playing the Professor Layton crossover.

Investigations 2 is quickly becoming one of my favorites if not my Absolute favorite (which before was tied between AJ and T&T). I have an unrealistic love for Edgeworth and this game just makes him so much better

And he looks great with those glasses he's been starting to wear in the later games. (It makes him look more like his father.)

BTW, are either of the new Japanese PW games coming out to the states?

That sucks. It looks like it would be fun.
Take my word for it, it's an incredible game. It's got some of the greatest music, greatest animation, and best plot twists in the entire series. The only problem is that a lot of plot points are made, and are not pursued any further due to Takumi's intention to follow up with the second DGS. I mean listen to this theme, it's so fresh.

I can only hope the AAI2 fan translation team gets back together for this game. I'd love to play it.
There is a team on GBAtemp translating the game. Only problem is that the team consists of two people, so it'll be a while before the game can be played. It does work with HANS though, so you'll be able to play it if you have 3DS homebrew. Otherwise, here's some shameless self promotion of the only DGS walkthrough on YouTube.

One trial. That's the only reason to play PLAA. The Golden Court is one of the greatest trials in the entire franchise. Otherwise, the rest of the game is incredibly hard to sit through, especially if you're not a fan of Layton. Layton solves every mystery on his own, making me wonder why they even had Phoenix in the game in the first place other than to be Layton's little sidekick who stalls for time when Layton needs it. You do get to cross-examine 10 people though.

Don't worry yourself. Homebrew on 3DS is relatively easy to install once you have the correct game. I recommend getting a sky3ds to emulate Cubic Ninja, and install your homebrew through that.

For anyone who played DD, was it good? As good as the first three?

I fuckin' loved these games, though. Oh man. The first time you make a breakthrough in a tough case and the objection theme starts to play... so exciting.
On that note am I the only one who didn't terribly like any of the subsequent objection themes? For me the first one was the best one.

DD is really good and Athena and Bobby make a nice additions to the cast. As for Simon Blackquill, he's a great character and his animation with his pet hawk are very cute (it even arrogantly snickers along with him.) There's a bigger variety of things to try like Athena's emotion technology, Apollo's bracelet and the psylocks. There's also a downloadable case.

I can understand that feeling you have. Or the oppositie happens when you've been working hard on a case and just when you think you're going to win, someone comes to ruin it.

DD is good. Definitely worth a play. It might not be as good as the previous games, but it's still really good. The way I see it is that none of the games are bad, some are just better than others.
