Abby is only sort of semi-aware, I feel. She definitely understands that her brain doesn’t function normally, and that other people are aware of this as well, but instead of trying to manage it she instead takes advantage of and relies on her mental illness as an excuse and attention grab. Like when she lost her job because her boss wouldn’t give her 3 days off in advance “for my bipolarI’m fucked in the head don’t you fat ugly cunts get it.” Then she proceeded to set her work shirt on fire, lol.

Nowadays though she seems to do what most millennial girls do and just uses it as a core defining trait. She can’t go a day without mentioning being hospitalized for 7 months and she’s made the same video talking about her schizoaffective disorder like three times.

The same goes for the munchies in the Facebook groups. There’s nothing wrong with being open about your struggles with depression or anxiety or OCD, but if your most prominent defining trait is constantly emphasizing how “sick” you are, I can guarantee you’re probably a very whiny and incredibly boring person to be around.

I don’t think Abby is malicious. I just think she’s very easily led to believe whatever her flavor of the day does. Pretty common with severely mentally ill people. Sure she chooses to make a spectacle of herself, but that’s about it. She’s not like actively harming anyone by being dirty and weird, except maybe her parents.
