First time actually watching her vids (music? poems? abominations?) and holy shit, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Also girl literally looks like she in her mid 30s.

I have wondered wether the 'nightmare kid' comes out when she's not on meds and the basic phases are when she's on meds/trying different combos of meds
I wouldn’t be surprised if, during Abby’s hiatus from the internet while she was hospitalized, her parents received counseling for themselves and learned the skills necessary to keep their severely mentally ill daughter at least semi under control. I think every time Abby reverts to her Nightmare Kid/emo/scene looks and starts rapping again is when she’s cutting back on her meds, and the basic bitch Jesus loving identity is when she’s back on her meds. I’d rate myself optimistic, but maybe her parents finally learned to sort of stand up to her and push her to keep taking her medications if she wants to continue living with them, or maybe they just appeal to her jebus obsession and tell her god wants her to be medicated.

They really ought to just dump her at a group home and let the state take care of her. She clearly has no intention of trying to live independently and doesn’t seem phased by the fact that her parents won’t be around forever. They obviously love her, but a structured and scheduled housing unit with a caring yet firm staff that will make sure she’s taking her medications and attending therapy regularly, as well as stomping out any violent tantrums from her in an instant, would be exponentially more beneficial for her mental health than continuing to live at her enabling parents house rent free at 26. An adult group home would still allow her to have the freedom to have a part time job, go to church, and visit her parents. I don’t doubt it’s an option that’s been suggested to them by doctors before.

As has been said in many threads, you can’t force an adult into treatment or long term care against their will.

Abby would have to be a raving loon trying to hurt others for a mandated treatment and even that is hard as fuck to get done. Not to mention there are very few spots available for such cases. Jails and prisons house way more mentally ill people than Metal hospitals or treatment facilities in the USA for this reason.

I’ve seen parents of severely schizophrenic adult kids unable to get any treatment for their kids, even though they were totally psychotic and thought everyone was trying to poison them. Abby is barely notable on the crazy scale compared to many.

Abby would simply walk out of any treatment facility or group home her parents managed to get her into. If her parents didn’t let come back home, She’d just live on the street as a scum punk and end up dead in a few months.

There are no easy answers for her parents. Having a mentally ill family member is a special kind of hell.

God I can't help but feel bad for her sometimes. She's a fucking idiot, but she's 100% a product of her mania. I see her invest herself completely in being "DA REEL EMO SCENE KWEEN" or whatever, then eventually just crash and go "What's wrong with me?" It's funny yeah, but it's also sad when she's back to """normal""" or at least medicated, and she asks for help.

The fucking manic identity issues is something I've never known how to get over. Medication is great, but it's not a magical fix. When you stop having the manic episodes all the time, you're left with no sense of who you are, because you whole sense of being was these emotional, identity outbreaks. Plus sometimes with the stronger antipsychotics, it can make you extremely depressed because you don't feel the emotions you used to. Sometimes you want to stop taking them so you have another manic episode, so you feel ontop of the world and you feel like you have a sense of purpose.
But back to being on medication, because of the depression it can cause and because of the lack of emotions, you don't really know who you're supposed to be. You don't have any interests like you used to (even if the interests were completely erratic and nonsensical) and it can leave you feeling pretty suicidal.

I have no idea what the """magic fix""" is to having a sense of identity when you're schizoaffective and on strong medication. Intensive therapy is all I can think of, which I'm sure she could get with the support of her parents. Maybe going into Intensive Outpatient or Partial Hospitalization so she can build a sense of community, and hopefully find something she likes that way. Maybe she'll make some real friends. :optimistic:

This is just what I go through with schizoaffective and medication, and from the way she's been, I don't doubt she's in a similar boat. I feel bad for her, but I know better than to pozload my negholep. I'm fucking crazy enough, I'm not adding more of it into my life.

She's going a on a Christian rant on fb today and pissing people off. Over 400 comments in 3 hours. She's still responding to them, too.

The comment wouldn’t be too bad if she just didn’t use God/Satan in her spiel. Emo try hard shit has not been good for Abby, it’s made her an object of mockery.

400 ppl feeling the need to argue with a sad mentally ill girl about emo being good or bad shows why Abby’s hater crowd are bigger lolcows than she is. They should just agree emo is from Satan and tell her to go to church with her mom.

With how upset these idiots get about Abby copying “their style,” or not being a real emo/goth/Tran/NBC puppet etc... you’d think they’d be thrilled if she fucked off and became a nice boring church going woman.

"Go to church with your mom" should be the new "calm down" phrase.
Agreed. That needs to be made into a thing.

She mentioned having a case worker on Facebook, in a post about going to a Halloween themed costume party thing for crazies, so she must be involved in some kind of mental health program. I think that’s very good, if she has a case worker then that means her parents at least have some help in dealing with her lunacy.
