A large point of getting a lawyer is so they can write shit on letterhead as one. Everyone knows you can go to nolo.com and diy that for free. IDK about Canada, but where I am if a lawyer wrote this and sent it anon it better be truly anon to everyone to avoid liability and in fact disbarment if that came out. Lawyers are like doctors. This is almost like a doctor writing a scrip anonymously. Not allowed.

Read it again. whoever wrote that email advised against sending it in the first place but had to do it.

No lawyer is going to put that dribble on their official letterhead and sign their name to it. That's pretty much instant disciplinary action in any jurisdiction.

That's my point exactly. If a lawyer isn't comfortable doing something under their own name, that means there's no bar obligation to do it anonymously.

Just based on the tone of the letter itself, the fact it basically admits Yaniv posted the death threats ("her conduct on your website"), the "I told her to be less aggressive" bit, I suspect it was written by a friend of Johnny's who thinks this is somehow going to reduce the drama. Not a lawyer or anyone official, just someone trying to drop the heat.

Of course, this is just more drama, but nobody's perfect.

If Jon hypothetically tried to sue the whole building, wouldn't that just backfire on him? I mean, anyone who didn't know who him would start resenting him. Furthermore, they live in close proximity, so it would be him who would be in danger, not WGKitty.

It's pretty obvious Yaniv sent this as a way of fishing for WGkitty's identity. No lawyer would word a legal communication that way whether they personally think the decision is wise or not, nor would they email it anonymously from a protonmail account. Only our favorite litigious troon could come up with such a dimwitted scheme.
