So it appears a major diplomatic crisis is brewing in the world's arsehole as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, the UAE and Yemen have ceased all air, sea and land trade with Qatar, with accusations that they are destabilising the region by funding terrorism.

The Qatari stock exchange is already down 6.5% and all flights have been forced to divert over Iranian airspace.

Nah. The royal families of the two nations hate each other and the youngish emir of Qatar is far less restrained in his criticism of other gulf nations than is traditionally "proper". The Saudis most likely want to undermine any possibility of him gaining influence. They're probably also pissed because natural gas development requires some level of co-operation between Qatar and Iran. The stated reasons are bullshit because every single country in the gulf region (but especially the Saudis) could be truthfully accused of the same things.

The world needs to stop sucking OPEC dick and Saudi dick especially.

It's kind of bizarre that they're getting all pissy about the relationship between Qatar and Iran but not about the relationship between France and Iran.

Yeah I have no doubt most of what they're saying about Qatar is true. It's just, you know, Saudi Arabia's got no leg to stand on with this. Neither does Egypt, since they're Hamas's biggest benefactor.

No, thats pretty much entirely what they are. The UAE once accused Kuwait of being a Western Puppet State. Iran accuses Saudiof being a despotic regime ruled by fear, Yemen has said Syria is a shameful nation that cannot control it's own borders.

Qatar is the switzerland of the middle east. If you have to get money to kidnappers, if you need to get in touch with whoever kidnapped your family, if you need your dirty money laundered, or are hiding from Israel, qatar is your place. Isis practically uses qatar as their own bak account. Saudia Arabia is where the ideology comes from, qatar puts it into practice. Also as long as we need oil, ww cant do shit about saudi arabia. Period. Qatar doesn't have that leverage.

I take your point though. Its a bit like the america telling who can and cant have what weapons hypocrisy.

Also that accusation that kuwait is an american puppet state is 100% (they got over run by iraq for godsakes )accurate.so is the statement about syria and it not being able to guard its borders.

Nothng yemen says about anything matters. Their more of a failed state any in the region.

Btw just my guess but all of this is american string pulling. We want SA to take care of iran for us. Iran is in a delicate position as far as what they could do to SA.

A muslim country attacking SA is like a western country attacking the Vatican. You better have a damn good reason. You certainly can't bomb mecca or medina or the muslim world will turn on them
