Being a tranny is still mostly a laughing stock among teenagers in my area, especially an obviously mentally ill one that doesn't pass. I've only ever seen a few troons around here and one of them was homeless. Someone who did actually more or less look like a woman would be a bit more acceptable, but still not seen as particularly desirable.

Most of them don't even go through with the surgery. Most of the ones I've met in passing (mostly online) either just claim to be a female while not even shaving (they're of course all 'lesbians' and hope to get laid for pity points) or don't have "dysphoria about their dick". Which confuses me, really. I would have assumed that having a dick and balls is what's making people 'male' mostly and causes dysphoria. But what the fuck do I know.

People stopped identifying as cross dressers at some point between the 90's and the 10's, and decided that merely wanting to cross dress meant you wanted to be the opposite sex.

Seems like it. I just wonder what caused this honestly. It's just a strange shift from 'I like wearing womens' clothes' to 'imma take some hormones and act like an asshole'. Or if those two groups are even related in the slightest. Or if cross dressing just isn't a trend anymore or something.

Only thing I can imagine happened is transgenders became popular as a victim class after gays got everything they could want and it's hard for anyone to argue how "dressing as a woman because you think you're a woman" involves different behavior than "dressing as a woman because you like it". So all the cross dressers got told they were actually equivalent to women and people should be comfortable with them doing it all the time.

Like Eddie Izzard who used to identify just as a transvestite/cross-dresser, and now says he is transgender.

Its weird, because one of my closest friends is a fag who admitted to crossdressing and has sucked cock on multiple occasions, and hasnt even thought about trooning out. You guys must be hanging out with the wrong people.

There are secondary benefits, such as the attention, the online hugbox, the feeling of moral superiority, the ability to practice your kink/misogyny in public and no one can stop you, and the relief from your anxiety about being gay. If you want to know why someone does or doesn't become a troon, look for how they benefit.

Nah, for a lot of people it's not that, or it would have been that until footage of what exactly a gender affirmation surgery is like became "popular" on the internet

Most animals absolutely behave differently to males and females of their species even outside of mating, although that is ultimately still the reason why. Most animals are sexually dimorphic because males and females have need for different behaviors to maximize their reproductive ability. Successful reproduction is in generally same direction to both genders but some key differences do males being spread their seeds around and females having to put more into creating new life. To female getting only the best males is the key, where as males it’s getting as many females as possible. Danger the genders face around mating are different too, mainly being females giving birth/having eggs and males competing with other males. Also in most species that take care of their offsprings, it’s most often done by the female alone. To the males it’s actually often advantageous to kill any offsprings that a female is caring if they are not his, as that will lead female being open for mating faster. So there has been differences in evolutional presures between genders and that has lead into great differences between them, including social interactions.
